SVision, by "line breaks" I'm referring to the list of names taking up two lines, like this:
SevenSpheres I know what you mean now.
These divisions are needed to fit all the object ids
If I take them out of chaos

1.png

And so with the divisions

2.png

I think they are needed. Not all computers have high-resolution screens.
Another thing is to put them correctly

" The name "Sgr A"
(IR) Complex" has a line break in it, which looks odd in the search:

I agree. There is no divide here

I've already fixed the slash names .

But it's truly nice, I tell you. Vision really worked hard on that one

I worked harder on the stars of the Milky Way center than on the black hole.

There, I almost had a full scientific work  :eh:

Thor and the black hole disc aren't really that much and it took me a while  .

Somewhere it took me two weeks to create and edit them

But the stars caught me sweating  :eh:

Lafuente_Astronomy is actually right.

I thought Powhei was more promising than other bodies and should be added to Celestia

However, the black hole M87 is very far away, and this addon will only work for those who have >Celestia 1.7.0 because the object is much further than the limit for STC objects in standard Celestia

I know some members only have 1.6.1 or 1.6.2 but at least I use 1.7.0, so it shouldn't be a problem for me. And I can't wait for your rendering of Powhei into Celestia. Insofar as I'm concerned, you will be the very first person to make an addon for a long-overdue Powhei Black Hole.

Thank you for your contributions in making Celestia more enjoyable for all ages. As a simulator, it should inspire the inner space traveler in us to explore space, at least as rendered on Celestia, so thanks again for making it a reality thorough your addons for Celestia.

Thor?

Here is an STC for M87*, but it doesn't render in 1.7.0 either:

Code: Select all

"M87*:M87 Central Black Hole:Powehi" {
   RA 187.704
   Dec 12.3906
   Distance 5.262e+07
   SpectralType "X"
   AbsMag 0
   Radius 19175000000 # 6.5 billion solar masses
   InfoURL "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messier_87#Supermassive_black_hole"
}

I don't have 1.7.0. and I probably don't plan on getting it so that .stc is fine with me.

Joey P., I mean it doesn't render in any version. SVision and Lafuente_Astronomy were saying it would work in 1.7.

Vision actually made an initial version of the Powhei addon, which he revealed to us in the Discord Server. Based from the picture, it can be displayed in 1.7.0, so distance limits, if there are any, shouldn't be a problem:

Lafuente_Astronomy,

Vision sent me the download link for his Powehi addon, and it doesn't work for me. Vision is apparently using a version of 1.7 from Askaniy without the ~10 million light-year render limit, and it looks like you're using it too. Where can I get it?

Edit: I made a pull request so that Powehi will render in the default 1.7 too.

I actually don't have the Powhei addon yet. I just copy-pasted a screenshot that Vision shared in the Discord. However, I'll still answer your question: I got my 1.7.0 from the latest snapshot of Celestia 1.7.0 here: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=18372&start=620

Added after 1 minute 18 seconds:
Perhaps if any, Vision might include the code that removes the 10 million light year render limit in his next addon, so don't worry

Okay, you're using the same version as me, so can you confirm that my STC and/or Vision's addon do not work?

Edit: Yeah, the screenshot is in Russian, should have realized it was from Vision.

I could ask Vision which version of Celestia 1.7.0 is using. But it would be better if he sees this part of the chat, at least either way, he would give his insights on which version of Celestia 1.7.0 is he using

Based from the picture, you do appear to be using a commit called "celestia 5441-x86-RaDecDist-Fix", which if I remember, is a Janus commit, am I right? Is that specific commit the one allowing you to place objects further than the star render limit for Celestia 1.7.0 or is there another program that's responsible? I asked you this because SevenSpheres said this:

I don't have any additional information
Apparently you're right, and it's "celestia 5441-x86-RaDecDist-Fix" that allows me to fly to a really deep universe

Yeah, I actually do have the same exact commit here:

Added after 1 minute 20 seconds:
In fact, maybe we should also consider some of Janus' addons, especially on the star render distance for inclusion into vanilla 1.7.0. I remember that Janus made a commit in which he actually increased the star render distance to 100 GLY, just not sure which is it. I'll ask him about it soon

Okay, it's Janus' 1 Gly build. I have a pull request open for the same thing, so this will be in default Celestia too.

I think the 100 GLY render limit for both stars and galaxies would be better, so that anyone can have immense enough space to create new galaxies beyond the Observable Universe, and create the stars within as well. However, that's just my opinion

Good offer! I support

Actually... Maybe later... It would be great to implement (on such a scale) a multiverse. Or try.

It would be great to admit, although the presence of other universes is not proven, however, and not denied

However...in "celestia 5441-x86-RaDecDist-Fix" there is a lot of things to correct before it enters fully into 1.7.0

For example sometimes my stars disappear (it concerns only "nearby" stars of the milky way).
Black holes too can disappear but for them the distance for some reason is not limited

The coordinates of stc objects with dsc are not exactly the same at a distance of one billion years.
Besides, the orbits of objects render for a very long time at too long distances

It's all gonna have to be fixed in time.

Honestly, I believe that the multiverse exists, just that we don't have the equipment or technology to find them out, yet. Just imagine that the multiverse is space, and we are the humans of the old days, long before we launched our first rocket, and saw Space for the first time.

That being said, I also hope that onetwothree and the other devs might consider making a 100 or beyond GLY(Though I prefer if it's 100 GPC) stellar and galactic limit for Celestia, so that we can also have enough space to make duplicate observable universes for testing and addon purposes

The multiverse is literally "everything we could never see". It is above and beyond the natural, hence it should be described as "supernatural". Believing that the multiverse exists is equivalent to believing God created the universe in six 24-hour days (which I believe He did).
