Very strange. I have not changed nebulae since August 2018. Everything works correctly.

Then perhaps it's something that I either failed to do or made some accidental change. I'll reinstall it again, just to check

In previous versions nebulae displayed correctly?

No changes actually. I am redownloading it now. I'll let you know if the problem is fixed or not

Suggestions 2:
1. IC 3568/Lemon Slice Nebula. It has a relatively simple shape and should be easy to do.
2. The texture of Vesta needs to be seriously updated. Overall the color is not correct and should be a little more brownish. I believe FarGetaNix made one a while back, can't find it though.
3. It may be possible to adjust the gamma on this:https://www.deviantart.com/fargetanik/art/Pluto-Texture-Map-16k-643938442
Pluto Texture and add it as a VT, as the one you have in CO is 5K and the other one is 16K.
4. Prometheus topographic map: http://solarviews.com/cap/sat/prometh3.htm
5. Hyperion Topographic Map http://solarviews.com/cap/sat/hyperio3.htm
6. Proteus Topographic map: http://solarviews.com/cap/nep/proteus3.htm

Now nebulae are not included in our plans.

For a very long time I planned to redo this texture so that it was painted on a physical level. This task is for Askaniy, but probably not for this release.

fyr02 wrote:3. It may be possible to adjust the gamma on this:
Our texture is painted according to official photos. We do not touch the brightness yet. In addition, the model has a higher priority than the virtual texture.

6. Proteus Topographic map
Good find. It will be necessary to add.

I tried to repeat the colors and brightness of this photo processing. I think it has a gamma correction.

Well, if ever you'll want to make more nebulae in future releases of Celestia, aside from the Lemon Slice, perhaps the Veil Nebula, the Tarantula Nebula and several other nebulae ought to be included. And improvements in the design of other nebulae can be included as well. In addition, perhaps a more accurate model of the LMC and SMC can be included if you can.

The global challenge associated with nebulae is their further optimization. I want to convert all textures to the DDS format and convert the models in a different way. Sometime later.

Important message for Linux and MacOS users.

Try installing the Celestia Origin v.9 on your systems without Wine, using script from attachment. Report the OS version and installation results. Than more information, that better. Thank you for any help.

It should work for Celestia installed from packages, but not manually to /usr/local or /opt.

I doubt it works on MacOS

Updated version which handles custom installation better. Should work on GNU/Linux, *BSD, and with custom builds on OSX.

Yes, I already know. A significant number of objects have already accumulated, which I will rename in the next release.
