Thanks guys! Thanks to everyone!

Hopefully someday.

I hope too, @Diigg

But, have you noticed a file named "bioshield.msh"? It is the part jettisoned shortly before the Lander is sent to Mars, and I think it would be great to add it too.

I will see,@ DaveBowman2001

It's a shame not to have orbital data for the entire mission. Hopefully someday.

Here is orbital data for Vikings orbiters

In CELX functions, there are functions that retrieve the x, y, z positions of selected objects:
local obj_posf = actual_phase: getposition (actual_observer_tdbtime)
local posX = obj_posf.x * uly_to_km
local posY = obj_posf.y * uly_to_km
local posZ = obj_posf.z * uly_to_km

When we compare the x, y, z components provided by the function to those of a .xyz file, there is something curious.

x (celstia) = x (file)
y (celestia) = z (file)
z (celestia) = -y (file)

Does anyone have an answer to this mystery?

Is there an error that has gone unnoticed at the base of the CELX functions?

My script was tested on the 2 spacecraft models for Rosetta:
Toutatis, centered on the Sun
Mine, centered on the Earth
The result is the same.

Thanks @Limax7
I have no idea how to apply that to the @Toutatis addon. I suppose he will see it and use it, if possible.

Very beautiful Viking model. We had the lander now we have the orbiter.

Thank you Toutatis

Just a rectification, the span of the solar panels was 9.75m, which makes a Radius of 0.004875

Well done toutatis! What's your next project gonna be?

I want to finish the models of ICESat-2, ICON, SWIFT, SPITZER, Map-Wmap, HESSI-RHESSi and make add-ons for them... 90% of work with them was made... but need to add materials to the meshes of the models and UV-mapping and texturing...

The result is the same.

@Gironde... the resultat is not the same.... Rosetta never was between Jupiter and Saturn orbits... as in trajectory you made.. remember, there is the Sun who makes the main rules in the Solar System for the all bodies and for the spacecrafts as well... so better to use trajectory I made... that is more accuracy and more correct... even when Rosetta near to planets or asteroids I used step 2 minutes in XYZV-file... there will not work step 1 day or even 1 hour... even 2 minutes is too much when spacecrafts near to space objects, becos of velocity they have... for 2 minutes everything can happen when the velocity several kilometer per second... but if we will use step with small step, XYZV-file will be too big (in MBt)...

Added after 9 minutes 41 seconds:

Yes, but this is for the NASA computers...

Added after 3 minutes 50 seconds:

Possible, but I used the radius of the bus of VIKING orbiter...

NASA spacecraft OSIRIS-REx model is ready for UV-mapping and texturing... it's a very detailed model so there was a problems before, which solved now... So the OSIRIS-REx model and add-on is my current project... I started it today.. The OSIRIS-REx model and add-on was made by me before, but this new model will be better... I guess...

Toutatis I do not understand! In Celestia there is only one Radius for an object, that of the planetographic sphere which contains the object. If we make appear this sphere, Viking is completely inside, including solarium panels.
You put a diameter of 2m50 (Radius 0.00125), which is a little near the diameter of the lander. At least keep the same proportions.
With Radius 0.00125, the planetary sphere of Viking-1 at a diameter of 2m50 for Celestia instead of 9m75.

Wikipedia (France)
"The orbiter, octagonal in shape, was about 2.5 m in diameter, with a total launch mass of 2,328 kg, of which 1,445 was devoted to propellant and nitrogen used by the control engines. The eight sides of the structure measured 0.4572 m high and had a width of between 1 397 and 0.508 m The overall height of the orbiter and landing gear assembly was approximately 3 , 29 m from the landing gear on the launcher to the top of the orbital vehicle.
The orbiter was equipped with 16 modular compartments, 3 arranged on each of the 4 long faces of the structure, and one on each short face. Four solar panels were deployed perpendicular to the axis of the orbiter. The span of the set with deployed solar panels was 9.75 m. The energy was produced by 8 solar panels of 1.57 by 1.23 m installed in groups of two on each support. The solar panels consisted of 34,800 photovoltaic cells, capable of producing 620 watts of power when the probe was in orbit around Mars. The energy was stored in two 30 amp hour nickel cadmium batteries. "

"The landing gear14 built by Martin Marietta consists of a hexagon structure made of aluminum, these sections have an alternating length of 1.09 m and 0.56 m.They rest on the three legs of the landing gear, attached to the When viewed from above, the landing legs form the sides of an equilateral triangle of 2.21 m on one side, and the instruments were attached to the top of the undercarriage, thus overhanging the surface. from the ground, once the landing legs are deployed. Okay @Gironde... I understand... thanks.. but I think that everyone here can change this small thing in SSC-file...

Toutatis, concerning Rosetta, the 2 orbits are correct but seen from a different point of view.
With a Solar orbit, the observer is on the Sun and sees an object moving around the Sun. The orbit thus drawn is smoothed with respect to the Sun as being an ellipse.
With the orbit seen from the Earth, the trajectory of the satellite is more telling because it shows the movements made by the satellite in its movement especially by meeting other objects. The orbit as seen from Earth will rotate like the Earth as the Timeline unfolds as the Earth rotates. It allows to see what the engineers have planned to reach 67P.
But it remains certain that the solar orbit is less complicated on the screen.
It should not be forgotten that all satellites can be expressed in a solar orbit even those rotating around the Earth, but such an orbit will be an ellipse around the Sun merging with that of the Earth and not allowing us to understand the movement of the satellite around the Earth.

For the 2 landing gear, it is also necessary to modify their Radius because it is the diameter which was registered at the origin (Radius 0.00125)

Gironde... I am know Astronomy well, but I don't know well English... so I will not argue with you about such things... all I know that the Rosetta orbit I made looks much better... when Rosetta left the Earth gravitation, then the spacecraft destiny belongs to the Sun... I think that No one want to see the asteroids, comets or other objects orbits with respect to the body they not belongs... becos it will looks funny...

Toutatis, will you be releasing the ICON addon once it's launched on the 26th?

Of course SpaceFanatic64... I have a very good and detailed model... need only UV-mapping and texturing... yesterday I finished work with OSIRIS-REx model...

Hey there...since the MSH files on AVSIM are inaccessible without an account, I'll just post the Salyut 3, 4, and 5 meshes here on the thread

The SSC files are ready. Umm...@toutatis can you convert these models when you have finished your ongoing projects? Thanks in advance
