Congratulations to all, especially to @toutatis, for the incredible effort, the number of models and the speed in publishing them. Really impressive!

Thank you very much @Diigg...

@toutais In July, you published a model of the launching base. viewtopic.php?p=139359#p139359
I thought it was an interesting and different addon and I wanted to try it.
It would be possible to get an ssc file to put it in the right place?.
I tried to create it myself, but despite having the coordinates (https://www.latlong.net/place/cape-canaveral-florida-usa-9780.html, I must be doing something wrong, since it does not put me in the right place.

It would be very cool to be able to see your Atlas-5-Centaur model take off from there.
If that is possible, do it with Celestia.

This Space Launch Complex model I made for Celestia is SLC-3E model... Space Launch Complex-3E located in the state of California at Vandenberg Air Force Base... (Location 34.6423°N 120.5885°W)... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vandenberg_AFB_Space_Launch_Complex_3 and this complex was used for Atlas and Thor rockets... last launch from there was in May 5, this year... it was Atlas 5 with mission Insight...

I think I will work with this model and try to put it in the right place.. but later.. (need to finish some add-ons)...

Thanks again @Diigg... and also thanks a lot to everyone who likes the add-ons that I do for Celestia...

Regards

How do you put together two models of ships? Example: the Compton Gamma-Ray Observatory linked to the space shuttle Atlantis STS-37

@Diigg, linking two models of ships in Celestia is actually very simple and (sometimes) complex at the same time. Tampering its .SSC file is only what you need

Example: the Compton Gamma-Ray Observatory linked to the space shuttle Atlantis STS-37.

For the STS-37 mission, I simply copied the Shuttle's orbital parameters into Compton, then I raised its SemiMajorAxis to only about 5 meters (see the code I sent on my post back there)

Added after 12 minutes 45 seconds:
BTW, if you want to dock two ships like those in the ISS, you have to do these ff. steps:

1. Make sure the spacecraft you want to place has its address coded to the station
EX.
"Soyuz TMA-14M" "Sol/Earth/ISS"

2. Place your craft to the approximate coordinates relative to the station
(I use LongLat format instead of FixedPosition because of its simplicity)
EX.
LongLat [ 0.889 9754.7 0.778]

3. If craft is out of place, try tampering its Orientation and/or RotationOffSet

4. Test the results to Celestia

Take note that this method takes time, trial and error to get the best results

Added after 3 hours 5 minutes:
I just noticed, sorry @Diigg, I did not post that code back there, but I think you'll get the idea
"Open the pod-bay doors HAL"
"I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that"

Many thanks, toutatis. This spacecraft has long been forgotten, but at least now we have it for Celestia!
If you see that I made a dumb or nonsensical post years ago, please forgive me in advance.

beautiful model with the missing pieces

Toutatis, could you look at what the orbit could do with these 4 xyzv (2 phases per satellite), Earth geocentric and Sun & Eath Moon L4 (A) or L5 (B) files.

A peculiar spacecraft I found while browsing the NASA 3D resource. It is called Wmap, and if toutatis or gironde successfully make this in Celestia, that would be great. Model link: https://nasa3d.arc.nasa.gov/detail/map-wmap

toutatis, in case you've forgotten, we are looking for a Stardust addon that utilizes both models that you've made. I'm sure that such an addon won't take long to make, so if you could do that, we'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,
CM1215

I've found out how to use BOTH models of Stardust into Celestia without overwriting each other

In this update I've made, Stardust will open and close its SRC capsule when it is around 41,000 km distant from 81P/Wild 2

All credit goes to @toutatis for making this addon
