I had to unzip the.7z file with WinZip and it did not copy Install.bat.

Use the 7-zip archiver. First, you need to unpack only Install.bat. After the script finishes working then replace the main folder.Anthony_B_Russo10 wrote:I had to unzip the.7z file with WinZip and it did not copy Install.bat.

You are mistaken. The script is important and much easier with it. However, some people do not read the instructions. Hence the problems.SpaceFanatic64 wrote:Anthony, install.bat is not necessary for installing Celestia Origin. It's easier to just copy and overwrite the files.

I did not edit the author's parameters. At the moment I'm just implemented control through LET.
I do not know whether the author of Cham will adjust the parameters of the addon "Geomagnetic field", from the aesthetic point of view, the geomagnetic field should rotate synchronously with the Earth. To do this you need to replace all the lines in the Geomagnetic_Field.ssc file:
Code: Select all
#Period 9e+12
Period 1.00115230968135
Try to set the time course of 200x, you will see a fascinating sight:
Thanks to the author of the model, thanks to the author of the addon.

Oh, it's just that whenever I install Celestia Origin, instead of using the install.bat, I just copy and overwrite files. Also, if you are going to NOT use install.bat, remove files such as asteroids.ssc, comets.ssc, gaspra_locs.ssc, ida_locs.ssc, minormoons.ssc, and numberedmoons.ssc, as they will produce duplicate objects. You must also delete the extras-standard folder, to prevent getting duplicate spacecraft.
If you see that I made a dumb or nonsensical post years ago, please forgive me in advance.

Now it works.

For anyone who cares, I put a standard zip file version up alongside the 7z archive in my downloads.
Just change the .7z extension to .zip in the direct link, to grab that one instead.
I also included par2 recovery files for anyone who has a flaky connection or datacaps that make redownloading painful.
Janus.

Downloading it right now! Although is it ok if I merely add the data from version 6 to my folder of Celestia Origin version 5 or do I have to make another one?

I know it's been a while since anyone has posted here, but I have some great news for Art Blos. Not too long ago, toutatis surprised us by creating textured versions of Magellan and Chandra X-ray Observatory. I'd highly suggest you replace the old ones with the new ones.

Art Blos, an addon that I would suggest putting in Celestia Origin is Buggs Moran's Io plumes addon. Of course, this shouldn't be on by default, as it might lag slower computers. It would be best to have the plumes controlled by Lua Edu Tools. Here's the thread containing the addon: https://celestia.space/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=17366
