@croc, Do you have installed it ? :fie:
=> high details, good textures, good orientation in space for shields and solar panels...

Seriously, PINK on JWST's toutatis ? :hi: :fie:

After comparing the 2, none good Texture on this little ugly model...

Below are two models: 1. Tutatis, 2. Wieczor:

The telescope's mirror in Toutatis is more effective than that of Wieczor.

P.S.
The size of the model for Toutatis 131 Kb, for Wieczor 20.095 MB!

Go near the jwst's wieczor and look at ALL details...

In reality for best pictures, you think that mirors are so separate ? :fie:

Hi there, for those who have downloaded the CygnusEnhanced spacecraft found in the earlier pages of this forum post, here's the code for putting it beside @linuxman's very high-detailed ISS:

Code: Select all

 Modify "Cygnus OA-4:CRS OA-4" "Sol/Earth/ISS"
{
   Radius      0.00575

   LongLat [ 207.000000 -0.1000000 0.0072500]   # Unity (nadir port)

   Orientation          [ -90 0 0 1 ]
   EquatorAscendingNode 270.00000000
}

NOTE: The version of @linuxman's ISS I've used is the 2009 edition...I can't find where I could download the more recent 2011 edition, but it may also work there if you have

You can agree that the gaps between hexagons should be less ...:

JWST-02.jpg

.. but the Wieczor model does not have a hint of any clearances. (Is this quality with a file size of 20.095 MB?)

I liked the JWST model used in this composition (sunshield):

All is in the point of view, I saw all main mirors...
And it's the one minor default in this model.

On the another, did you see the secondary and third miror ?
The antennas ?
the supports of main mirors ?
The textured solar panels ?
The nozzles ?
The telescopic arms ?
...

I don't think so :fie:

About the JWST model:
I used ORBITER model... Wieczor used NASA free model..
Wow! I didn't realize that it came straight from Orbiter. I didn't even know that the Orbiter version of JWST is available already

Well, @toutatis and @gironde, speaking of Orbiter: I finally made it up and running again on my PC! It turns out just a corrupted installer after all!

I'm now working to figure out how the Luna probes' trajectories there compatible for Celestia, which it seems much more complicated than I thought   though the orbit for Luna 10 is finished and Celestia-worthy

DaveBowman2001

I'm happy for you that everything is working again.

I can not wait to see what you can extract from Orbiter to serve in Celestia.

Do you know the Stellarium software (current version 0.18.1)? http://stellarium.org/fr/

It is a free software that allows to visualize the visible sky from any point on Earth. Personally I positioned the software to see the sky at home (longitude, latitude, altitude, direction). It allows you to follow stars or satellites. It provides a bunch of data about the selected object and in the latest version to calculate ephemerides. It is installed with 600000 stars but by downloading from the software one can reach 177 million stars.

The multitude of languages available can satisfy many people using Celestia.

Umm, no it's the first time I've heard about Stellarium, but it looks like it's also a cool astronomy app too!
