I'm having trouble moving the antenna on the Compton GRO model that you gave me, as parts of the base of the antenna are indirectly connected to other parts of the spacecraft that I don't want to move, and I don't know how to avoid this...

CM1215... I will make it today... there is no problem to move antenna... this work for half of hour only...

In this photo, it's 100% clear what colors TESS has:

This photo clearly shows that the upper part of the TPP with gold foil, the lower part with silver foil:

I cropped the 3D mesh of Mariner 10.

I converted it to .cmod

The satellite still seemed off-center in its planetary grid. So I used a MeshCenter statement.

The data for EllipticalOrbit is dated March 29, 1974 and there are no other data on Horizons and Norad. The first two planetary rendezvous, Venus and Mercury, do not match with the parameterized orbit because the orbits have been changed during mission and are no longer accessible. We must be content with those of March 29, 1974; unless someone is able to determine it with only flyover altitudes. It seems a little thin!

In the archive, I left the original and intermediate mesh for those who still want to intervene on the model.

It seems to me that the model must be additionally displaced along the Z axis, so that the zero point of the axes coincides with the other axes of symmetry, see the screenshot:

I've pointed Kepler into its original Field of View (between the constellations Cygnus and Lyra) as it did in its first mission before its gyroscopes failed operating starting in 2013. To keep the craft permanently staring to this region, its arrays pointing to the Sun, and also having "constant communication" with Earth, I have removed its rotation rate in the .SSC file and had its Two-Vector BodyFrame pointed at one of the stars in the region (in this case, I've chosen the sun-like star Kepler-22   ).

toutatis, not to be a complainer, but there are a couple problems I've found with your fix of the Compton GRO model.

Firstly, there is a leftover 2D textured rectangle floating disconnected from the main spacecraft...this shouldn't be there.

Secondly, the section of parts that were moved along with the main antenna are slightly off center.

Okay, CM1215... I will see if I can correct it... thx

I have corrected the Compton GRO model... but I will convert it to (.CMOD) in evening after my work... in 3ds formad I working, usually I use false colors to make work with models easier...

a new TESS model is also ready... I created 57 materials for this model... still need to texture this model ( need a good foil texture)... this work for hour or two... but just I very busy these days wth my main work...

As you can see, it's nearly all silver.

CM1215,
If you increase the photo, you can see yellow and green scotch ...
I doubt that in such an absurd form TESS with closed lenses will work in space.
I believe that the photo TESS in the package for transportation to the cosmodrome.

At Toutatis the model of a telescope is made more qualitatively. See:
