Added 4K-fictitious textures for 20000 Varuna, 38628 Huya, 90482 Orcus, 120347 Salacia and 174567 Varda. Updated their orbital data.

Added light effects for atmospheres and solid surfaces, to make objects more like what a human eye would see.

Huh...I wonder where you got the false-color Charon map. I never could find a way to colorize the 2017 grayscale map to false color...

How did you make the texture? I had been trying to make some of color mask based on that older false color texture that I could paste over the newer grayscale texture, but I simply couldn't find a way...is there some sort of program that you used that was made for that purpose, or did you use GIMP? Also, I would like to know exactly what you did so that I can do it with the full-scale 12k texture.

I made a 8k texture for my personal purposes.

If you are asking about how I colorized the greyscale map. The color map doesn't match the greyscale one perfectly, so I blurred it. Then I decomposed it into YCbCr color space, replaced the Y channel with the greyscale map and recomposed it into YCbCr. I did everything with Gimp.

Of course I have a different standard on how a true color texture should look like so I boosted the gamma value to 2.2 and mixed the RGB channels in a way to simulate true color.

Perhaps we can in the future. Now we decided to limit the addition of individual textures for exoplanets until a complete database is created.

I could not make a VK account which is why I am here. I am 15 years old and live in Vladivostok, Russia and have an interest in astronomy. I have downloaded Celestia Origin and I think the project is accurate and up-to-date. I have decided to ditch some of the textures and use my own for some objects. But I don't think it's right to do a review with your own textures. They are an important component of realism of the project "Celestia Origin". Also in the video there is no detailed 3D model of Ceres, textures of stars, dwarf planets and much more.

From 1 to 10 December will be a major upgrade of textures and models in the Solar system.
Will include more than ten completely new textures and at least five new models (if you know what I mean :wink: ).

In addition, I will update the trajectories of some small bodies.
