cannot close celestia without rebooting

Hi
I bought a windows 7 laptop couple of years ago and to my annoyance is when celestia crashes ie not responding , i cannot clear the program unless i reboot. I have tried various utilities as well as the standard task manager / performance monitor methods. Ive used taskkill and even changed registry settings but that program still hangs in there .

Unfortunately my hp laptop comes with a generic Intel graphics driver of which there hasn't been an update since i bought the device.

Can anyone advise or am I stuck with the reboot ?
