Re: Cool NASA
The entire time I've been here, I've always believed that the Celestia community was immune from the influences of pop culture crap, immune from all these ridiculous "trends" that ensare millions upon billions of people into mindlessly blabbering about crap that does not mean a single damn thing in the grand scheme of things.
And the fact that even NASA is doing it is all the more infuriating.
Sure as hell explains why space exploration is struggling.

Re: Cool NASA
Interesting... The screen advertisement about the guy being not "a true astronaut" ask for the remains people whether they too aren't of NASA team, otherwise what kind of pop culture is that which constrain the astronaut only within a serious role? The astronaut is the more psichedelic of the team for sure, maybe also a rocker, from "rocket" in this case. It should be as Wharol weren't an artist because he painted Monroe of different colors meanwhile the resulting work is nevertheless art. That is not pop art; its a bullshit. Pop art about astronauts is that of the movie "Dark Star" (is crashing).
Never at rest.

I agree with most of what you wrote, but are you sure it's NASA doing this? I doubt NASA has funded this project. I can imagine something like this being done by a few employees at NASA on their own time and money, but to suggest that the agency itself planned, funded and produced this seems like a stretch.
Current Setup:
Windows 7 64 bit. Celestia 1.6.0.
AMD Athlon Processor, 1.6 Ghz, 3 Gb RAM
ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics

Most likely. I have a bad habit of not thinking things fully through when I'm irritated by something.Hungry4info wrote:PlutonianEmpire wrote:...And the fact that even NASA is doing it is all the more infuriating.

Re: Cool NASA
I find this video simply hilarious, no matter who financed it. Also NASA employs human beings who sometimes like to have fun and even most serious scientists can enjoy Gangnam style
As previously reported in this forum, I am doing Gangnam style dancing every morning in the shower. My wife indeed took a few cute shots:
Oops, I forgot a little detail .... This one is really cool :

While I agree the link, singer and song are asinine, have you somehow missed the Trek and starwars plugins? Immune? Not even close..PlutonianEmpire wrote:The entire time I've been here, I've always believed that the Celestia community was immune from the influences of pop culture crap,...
