Credits, but how?

I'm performing some work on Celestia .cel files, that will allow Astronomy training shows for the schools, and conferences for general spectators.
In order to obtain what I need, I've loaded Celestia 1.3.pre4 release, and for each of the 11 "Shows" that I've prepared or I'm writing, I have done a special .cel file. With the new prerelease now it's possible to start all the shows from the icon linking the appropriate .cel file.
And now my doubt:
I have changed most of the Celestia's "default" DATA, EXTRAS, MODELS and TEXTURES. For my "HI-FI Planets" I use only hi-res textures of Mars, Earth and Moon, 8K or 16K each, and noone of them is included in the original Celestia file. Have I to put somewhere in the shows a script with ALL the names of the many people whose work helped me to obtain the requested result, or can I put a common simple sentence like the following one: " And many thanks to all the wonderful people that used their time and their skill to make this show possible"?

Moreover, another version of this problem:
I'm preparing a show named "The Universe", where I'm putting all the relevant celestial things up to now available for Celestia: many different star types, including blu and red giants as white dwarfs, double stars, the pulsar, the NGC1999, Homunculus and Rosette nebulas, the open and globular clusters, the Black Hole, the galaxy.
But each of this items is included in a bigger project, including fantasy planets and moons.

So I'm asking to the various Rassilon, Fridger, Grant Hutchison, Darkmiss, Jack, Praesepe and the many many other people whose names are in this moment out of my memory: can I use your works in this way, out of their "default" location?
Please inform me on the matter, I hate do make uncorrect actions.
Thank you very much.

Andrea

Andrea,

Of course you're right to be worried about credits and copyright.

Some people have spent a lot of time creating add-ons and would like their efforts to be recognized. As the author of the "open cluster", "planetary nebulae" and other catalogs and editor of some others, I was careful to include credits for the sources of my information. I realize now, though, that I also should include a specific comment about how they can be used and what kind of credit I'd like specified when they're used in a public showing.

Certainly you're free to use the add-ons that I've created. That's why they're made available on the Web.

Have you considered creating a scroll of credits like they have at the ends of movies? I think that would be nice, although perhaps not necessary. Celestia does not yet have "text scroll" unfortunately.

Thank you for all your answers and your kind permissions, but I agree with Selden, behind your work there is a lot of time and skill, and it's correct to give vision of this, probably it's the best thing to be done.
So at the end of each "show" there will be a still image with the names and web addresses of all the people that helped me with their work.
Now, alas, it's time for me to check EVERY texture, .ssc, .dsc, .stc, .3ds, .dat, .xyz, .cms files that I'm using in my shows in order to find their authors.
I've something to do for the next month! :(

I think all you really need is an aknoledgement of those involved...Its not like your making money off this Andrea...But if you feel you must by all means...

Rassilon, it's not a hard work for me, and moreover is like doing something for the Celestia community. Thia will allow surely some student to discover Celestia and get involved like and more than me, a little way to say thank you to Chris and all of you.
So I'll go ahead in this way.
Thank you again for all your kind replies.

Thank you for the help.

My final solution, due to the many many people involved on Celestia, is to distribute a paper to ALL the spectators of our shows, with all the above shown names and links, after the needed corrections.
What do you think about this?

Andrea,

That sounds like a great idea to me.

A minor correction: the address for my Web page now should be
selden http://www.lepp.cornell.edu/~seb/celestia/index.html
(lepp instead of lns)
The old address still works fine, it's just that the lab where I work has changed its name. I've updated my profile now, too.

Incase you didn't know (well ok, its obvious u didn't know) but you can put Michael as my name instead of billybob884 (M if you want a last name innital). Oh, and bruckner isn't his real name either, its Ivan (with an accent over the a, I think...) Riveria.

Sorry Christophe, I put there "Kendrix" only because I didn't find your name.
I'll correct it.
