Adding the star WR 102ka seems to be an issue...

Post #1by Drydareelin » 02.06.2012, 13:07

Recently, I've been reading upon the star WR 102ka and decided it might be an idea to implement it into Celestia.
http://jumk.de/astronomie/big-stars/wr-102ka.shtml

I've saved it as the correct file type, location and double checked my info but it just won't show up.

Code: Select all

"WR 102ka:Peony Nebula Star:2MASS J17461811-2901366"
{
RA                     174.61812
Dec         -29.013650
Distance      26000
Appmag         6.589 # guess
SpectralType      "WN10"
}

I am pretty sure it's to do with my ignorance, but I can't see my fault.

Thanks,
Dryda

"Appmag" should be "AppMag" -- with a capital "M".

This is implied in Celestia's console log, which complains
Invalid star: missing magnitude

To toggle that log, type a tilde (~)
On keyboards which support diacritical marks, you may need to type
tilde followed by the space bar.
Use the arrow keys to navigate up and down in it.

Thank you so much :D Just changing the 'AppMag' sorted it for me.
I knew it was something simple.

Thanks again!
