Re: Post your Celestia pictures!
Anyone seen those "mayhem" commercials from the AllState company?
I named two stars in a binary system, the same one as the Binary planet I've previously posted, after them.

Try decreasing the scale on those features a bit and change the colours, it might make a nice Europa-like ice moon.

Re: Post your Celestia pictures!
Toned down the intensity of the lavender hues I used for Belle Hades' sunsets. With the original values, the sky was completely dark WAY too soon after the primary had set. With the new values, the sky at sunset a bit more realistic, with a better twilight time.

What size is that in comparison to a galaxy class?

Sorry jtk, but I can now answer because I've got a login.
Here are Excalibur v2's specifications which I've found :
length : 934 m (+31% more than Galaxy)
Width : 401 m (-13%) => saucer not circular
Height : 144 m (-26%) => vessel without neck.
Decks : 40
why ?
Ok thanks. I wanted to know because I like to scale all of the ships.

I'm a bit new to Celestia, although I did experiment a bit with a portable version about a year ago. It looks good even just out of the box with no extensions.

You don't need a portable version of Celestia. Use the official installer to put it on a flash drive, CD, or anywhere else and it can be moved to another computer just by moving the (on Windows) Program Files/Celestia.

You should check out this model of the ISS:

Thanks for the link, I can't see the ISS but I can see a lot of 2001 A Space Odyssey stuff. It all looks good though.

It took me a while to figure out that I had to turn the clock back to find Mir.

@john Van Vliet,
Those images of the ISS look fantastic. Are they screenshots of an available Celestia plug-in?

The 2009 high resolution version of the ISS for Celestia by Linuxm@n is available for downloading on the Web page http://celestiasws.free.fr/ISS/ISS.html
Although he's working on it, a more recent version of the model does not yet seem to be publicly available.
A set of "wallpaper" images showing the construction of the ISS, made using his models, is available on Deviant Art at http://celestiaguru.deviantart.com/#/d31a4dp
