Re: Post your Celestia pictures!
I read this, and I thought I would adjust the sky color on Don E's Terraformed Mars addon that he made before he left.
Considering Mars is a dusty world, I'm assuming a lot of the dust would remain, as well as combine with the clouds, and give the sky a whitish color.

Re: Post your Celestia pictures!
About a month ago or so, I had a dream about the opening sequence of an alternate version of the 2012 movie, which would probably have followed a storyline I have plans for In Real Life, had I not woken up. I made a Celestia screenshot, and then put it through Gimp, and got this.
It's the closest I could get it to look like what it did in my dream.

That one appears to be very nice, Reiko.

It is not quite ready yet for Celestia. That model translates into a 75mb CMOD fileCham wrote:That one appears to be very nice, Reiko.

If you would like the original 3DS Max file I'll be happy to provide a link.
Re: Post your Celestia pictures!
You are becoming very good with gas giant textures. Any possibility of you making a bunch of them and releasing them as a texture pack?PlutonianEmpire wrote:THIS.

That's not a prooblem for me. I like high res models.

I am still experimenting with the lighting. When I finish I will be more than happy to share it with you and if the original author of the model ok's it, I'll make it available on the motherlode.Cham wrote:Reiko wrote:It is not quite ready yet for Celestia. Hello Reiko, I think this model is luxurious!Reiko wrote:I am still experimenting with the lighting. When I finish I will be more than happy to share it with you and if the original author of the model ok's it, I'll make it available on the motherlode.
Can you please add me to your offer of sharing when finished?
Thanks a lot.

Re: Post your Celestia pictures!
Unfortunately, I'm not really that good with texturing planets. The rogue gas giant uses the textures from the texture pack provided with the old globular cluster generator, as do the vast majority of my worlds, which is why I haven't released a whole lot of addons.Reiko wrote:You are becoming very good with gas giant textures. A lot of the gas giants I have posted so far are, unfortunately, mainly Jupiter recolors. Although I did a bit of extra work when I posted a Polyphemus picture, where I cropped it and then did a large amount of heal brush in Gimp. But that's about it.
I apologize for being a disappointment.

I like the whole "demotivational" quality to your poster, PE.
Don't down on yourself too bad regarding your textures. If you like how they look, great. If others like them, even better.

That model, by the way, was made by a person named Raul Mamoru. Fungun incorporated parts of the model in one of his addons found HERE

Re: Post your Celestia pictures!
Many billions of years into the future, we come across a small, tide-locked planet named Pisces....
It is a small world, that orbits a white dwarf star that has cooled down consideraby; just enough for the intense UV radiation to be low enough for life to flourish on close-enough worlds...

Re: Post your Celestia pictures!
Where o where do you get your cloud maps? I know you've said you use Rassilon's Cluster Generator for textures and stuff, but I have an older version, which doesn't include texture generation. (Same goes for his ssc generator.) If that's what you're using, how can I get my hands on an updated version?
And, in keeping up with the thread, here's one of my first textures...a gas dwarf in an inclined, eccentric orbit around Theta Persei A. Something happened to it long ago to put in such an orbit, strip it of it's original mass and two of its moons...

PS-You should've seen this before! Total trainwreck!
