The textures for these worlds is an exercise in what habitable worlds might look like if they had very high obliquity.

From what I've heard, the equators on such worlds would be colder than the poles.

This binary pair is inclined about eighty degrees to its ecliptic.

Fiddling around with Belle Hades' texture, to try out seasonal variation. Axial tilt around 26.4° to its orbit.

For some reason, all my planet texturing efforts seem cartoony. :?

Try going to HSL color model and turn the hue down.

Start with tuning the Hue and brightness of the lightest colors down a bit.
Also you need small details.

Hi.

I'm posting a few pics from my new martian rotovator system. It grants me some spectacular shots. For those who don't know, a rotovator is a giant sized rotating orbital tether, smaller than the traditional geosynchronous tether but still immense. And far more practical, especially on a low gravity world like Mars.

After seeing the moon post in Addon Development, I figured I'd fiddle around with my moon addon, to try to increase realism. I still don't think it's of the required quality for the Motherlode though.
