New map for Jupiter?

Now that the oval BA or Red Jr is a more or less constant feature in Jupiter,I think it?s time to make a new map for the giant planet?Or is there any available map with have already this spot?

None of them.
The three white spots below the GRS don?t exist anymore and only the oval BA remains.So the Jupiter map is outdated.It is not exactly the same,but using Jupiter default map is somewhat equivalent to using the Neptune map with the black red spot.I think there is someone that made the Jupiter updated map,but it seems it is missing.

The south equatorial belt has also dissapeared.

Not sure it's feasible to produce new Jupiter maps at this time. Especially since we have no spacecraft at Jupiter to make a decent map, and as far as I know, HST hasn't watched an entire Jovian rotation recently.

It should be amusing whether someone at NASA, ESA and so on would using a paint program to remove bands, belts and spots...

Maybe someone could do a alt texture like Earth?s and Mars',for example.And talking about,how much time the little red spot have to be around there to say it?s a more or less permanent feature?My criticism is more general too,although we have lots of new images of Moon,Mars,Saturnian moons,there had been ages since we have the last realistic texture.Every texture map since many months ago are only ficticional.The only exception maybe be Titan.The work of the developers seems to stop.Even in the Celestia subversion site,there were very few updates.I know that eveyone said it is a good program,shouldn?t not complain.But continuing like this,we will never reach the next version.Is there a lack of realiable source?CICLOPS and other sources are no more launching new global maps from time to time?Maybe it?s Obama?s fault...

I don't work with the texture development side much, but I think part of the reason is that we're still waiting on material to work with. Every so often, the Cassini CICLOPS team releases new maps of the Saturnian moons for us to play with.

Well,Cassini is visiting Saturn and there were many months since we have an update on textures of saturnian moons...

Maybe it?s Obama?s fault...

politics is a forbidden subject , and you know that .

But continuing like this,we will never reach the next version.Is there a lack of realiable source

there is and never was a "next" version on maps on any timetable

the only type of timetable is the PDS release cycle
BUT there must be a spacecraft out there to take photos and at Jupiter - there is not .

The Juno imagery probably won't be that spectacular. It's not really an imaging mission. I think there's a UV camera, but nothing else. (anyone who knows different, feel free to correct me)
