I think the texture for neptune is overdone with the swirls. I think in reality they aren't there...

Hi. OK, my website is now up and running. The textures for the Sun, Neptune and Tectonic Earth are now available at http://www.fsgregs.org/celestia

To use Neptune or tectonic earth, you have to edit solarsys.ssc and change the names of the textures being called.

If you download the Sun, I've also included the ssc file that places it directly on top of the existing Sol image. Put the texture in the medres folder and the ssc in the extras folder. I have not yet been able to successfully substitute this image (gstarbig.jpg) in place of gstar.jpg, which is Celestia's default image for a g spectral type star. When I try, Celestia draws gstarbig OK, but totally washes it out and overbrightens it, so that all the complex texture is gone and just a big glowing ball remains. Don't know how to overcome it. If anyone knows, let me know.

Enjoy.

Frank
