Intel GMA 945 problem.

Hi,

I have recently purchased an Acer Aspire One Netbook and I have installed celestia onto it.

The netbook has an Intel GMA945 graphics card which supports OpenGL, although im not sure what version. :?

Anyway, on the netbook celestia runs fine, save for when I view any stars. The stars are drawn, but not lighted correctly. :(

I checked to see if my graphics card had the latest drivers and it did. I also know what options I have for teh OpenGL rendering paths. They are

- Basic
- Multi-Texture
- OpenGL Vertex Program

If you want my OpenGL Driver info, here it is:

Hi John,

No I haven't got Limpus Light on my acer, it came installed with Windows XP SP3. I am however going to get Ubuntu Netbook remix for it though.

Image

Sorry about the image size. This error only shows when any star is in a corner of my screen. I might be wrong but it looks like a lighting problem. In the image you can see a bit of the star texture and, to the right, a section of a brighter texture. I believe this 'bright texture' to be the atmosphere lighting of the star. It should cover the entire star but instead all that shows up for me is the star texture, when I look at a star head on.

I confirm the problem shown above. It's really an old problem that I reported a long time ago.

It's actually a depth sorting problem.

Hi Cham,

Is there any way to fix this depth sorting problem or is there another topic about this that I can read on?

Cheers.

I've fixed my problem,

I had Celestia 1.5.1 running so I uninstalled it and got 1.6.0. The problem is now eliminated!
