Dimming stars? (Feature Request)

Post #1by PlutonianEmpire » 03.03.2010, 05:23

While working on an addon where Jupiter is turned into a star and Europa is somehow made habitable, I noticed that when looking at Europa, with nothing else in the view, I see light from two light sources (Jupiter and Sol) being reflected off the moon.

However, when I bring Jupiter into the view, the reflection of the light from Sol disappears.

I don't know whether this is a feature or a bug, but a request I have is for something similar(?) for stars:

When viewing close binaries with significant brightness differences (such as Delta Trianguli), the fainter star would appear dimmer when looking at both stars at the same time, while when looking at just the dimmer star, it appears normal.

Would this work?

I made a separate thread because I feared that the last post in the Feature Requests thread was too long ago.
