2010 AL30

It looks like you might need to change the class to "spacecraft" :) An ESA mission scientist is suggesting that 2010 AL30 is actually the Soyuz upper stage used by Venus Express:

Really? Where is the addon?
Certainly not on the picture!
No link?
How do I see it in Celestia?
What is that cryptic code?
Is it just a joke for initiated persons?

Copy and paste the code into an SSC file and place it in your extras folder.

Celestia is NOT a game with just a few buttons to click! It is a very complex simulation developed over almost a decade. Of course it requires some reading to be able to exploit it's potential. There is plenty of docs about Celestia.

E.g. the Celestia Wiki Book
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Celestia

and specifically the chapter on SSC files
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Celestia/SSC_File

Indeed, I assume that most people on this forum know Celestia and how it's data files are built. Or at least are willing to learn how they are used ;)

First post of rilett33 (against Jogad):
This addon probably doesn’t even exist!
No link to download for more than 2 weeks and no way to find the addon.
I think this is a fake announcement with screenshots made from Google Earth.

Second post of rilett33 (against CAP-Team):
Really? Where is the addon?
Certainly not on the picture!
No link?
How do I see it in Celestia?
What is that cryptic code?
Is it just a joke for initiated persons?

Please moderators, at third post ban this element.
Never at rest.

Reiko
Although your advice is not very clear for me, I suppose you wanted to help. Thank you.

Toofri, CAP-Team
Your irony demonstrates perfectly the vein of this forum.
I am not surprised.

And unlike Fenerit I don't attack persons.
Only unavailable addons, or addons without explanations for common people.

Please moderators, ban Fenerit

Okay guys, calm down altogether.

Just because someone is calling for banning someone else, this will not happen, unless the reason is really present and justified. Even more so, if the person to be banned is a long time member that has contributed to this community.

rilett33: t00fri and CAP-Team were not ironic, but pointed you to resources that would help you to understand how to implement the addon. I know that a lot of people want to just have to press a few buttons in software to get results today, but sometimes it IS necessary to read the manual (at least certain portions.) And after just having joined a forum and then to demand to ban an older member is really rude, even if Fenerit could have been less harsh.

And now to help you solve your problem:
You have to take the code that CAP-Team posted and put it in text editor and the save that as a file with the ending SSC.

Regards,

Guckytos

Very interesting! ... and if his hypothesis is in fact true, then I suspect very little risk to Earth. :lol:

Hi, Guckytos, now I'm really calm BUT I do not accept the way in which Rilett33 deal with this forum and its members:

1) To raise complaints about the works of elder members is irrispectous and is of the same fashion of a personal attack, since an add-on isn't built by itself, and in a "virtual" realm as thats of people behind computers, they assumes the status of "persons", as long as members doesn't meets theirselves materially, within every day life;

2) Asking for and to criticize an add-on without know how the add-on work doesn't make sense, and it's not the best way to get help; so I wonder what really Rilett33 wish from a open source software tout court, since the "cryptic code" or such a "joke for initiated persons" is one of the proper languages on which the open source software called Celestia is based;

3) Such a complaints haven't been raised at n-post as consequence of a personal "bad day", instead they runs from start, so I wondered about the nexts, of which tenor and so on;

4) I apologize with CAP-Team whether its thread is gone beyond its purpose.
Never at rest.

No hard feelings, but this wasn't exactly the way I intended this thread. :)

@rilett33: Celestia is a wonderful program, I spent literally hundreds of hours customizing my installation, and testing various addons. I'm not a scientist, just an eager to learn astronomy enthousiast, trying to get the best Celestia experience there is.
