It is my opinion, after an intensive (and expensive ) study of both, that Rome has the best Gelato, and Florence has the best coffee. Mmmmmm :P

What have I done to deserve this?
Rilett33 where are you? Come back and kill me right now!

oh, I know. This is a topic about food and ice cream and its title is wrong.

For those who want to be actually off topic, I suggest to post remarks and questions about the addon. (Not so interesting, I agree.)

Well, since PM doesn't work, I post here too (whether I've catch what CC asking for)

Eh, Fridgero, non sapevo che potessi scrivere l'italiano cos? bene
(Eh, Fridger I do not knew (believed) that (you) could write italian so well)

(Ice creams are very good in Italy! That I prefer is that with the cooked cream. And when I went in Rome, I tried (tasted) even a Roquefort' ice cream (a french cheese!).

Fenerit,

You might like to try Heston Blumenthal's Bacon and Egg icecream: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6CLoRuvGcY

:)

.... and if you like that, you'll probably also like his Snail Porridge!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_U996f2 ... re=related 8O

Disclaimer:
This is not intended to be an endorsement of either Heston Blumenthal or The Fat Duck.

Argh! No thanks, I don't know how gelato is eaten in NZ but here is a serious affair and assumes even social customs: at least cone for men and cup for women. It's difficult to see a woman eating cone ice-cream: too erotic.

Had a feeling you wouldn't go for it. (Maybe if you were French...)
I'd love to comment on the Freudian aspects of Italian men's connection with food, women, their Momma's home cooking, etc, etc,.., but in this forum any generalization like that is likely to be deemed Racial Profiling, so I'm afraid I must refrain from going there...

As for gelato in NZ... it pales in comparison to the Italian version. Technically, I don't think NZ ice-cream can actually be called gelato because of the ingredients and the way it's made.
Personally, if money was no object, I'd return to Italy anytime, just for the gelato and the coffee!! ... (Not to mention...the antipasti, the pasta, ....) :)

Sorry Jojad, we're still pretty much off-topic.

Hello,

Absolutely not :!:
Read carefully the title of this topic. You are very welcome.

As you know, I am French.

Actually, I didn't realize you were French  , but (as a Frenchman) I'm sure that you might like -

Of course, maintaining the perfectly politically correct style of the forum, I'm not trying to stereotype the French by suggesting that ALL Frenchmen like to eat snails, or that Frenchmen ARE snails, ... or in fact that all snails should be eaten.

Fenerit, interestingly Italy does not feature at all on this list. (I must say, I was surprised!)
