Re: Problem opening Celestia
Hi Dub
I found quite the same problem yesterday in my notebook, after installation of a graphic program.
The error message is really ugly: after a lot of googling I found that the culprits are some missing dll files from (in my case) "VC++ 2008 redistributable package" .
I had to look at System Error Event to find that VCL90.ATL had a problem: the real problem is that VCL90.ATL doesn't exist at all! Microsoft is very cryptic: the missing dll was atl90.dll...
IMO it'd be better to write "missing dll" instead to write the uncommon sidebyside (on my piano keyboard... ) thing.
Ciao

Any advice on how I can fix my problem?

Re: Problem opening Celestia
A problem caused by missing DLLs was supposed to have been fixed for V1.6.0.
Celestia for Windows is compiled using Visual Studio 2008.
You might try downloading and installing the VS2008 runtime DLLs from Microsoft at
http://www.microsoft.com/DOWNLOADS/deta ... laylang=en
Please let us know if this fixes your problem.

Re: Problem opening Celestia
No such luck.
I guess I will uninstall Celestia.
Do you think it is a problem with Vista and it might run in Windows XP ?
Thanks, Dub

Re: Problem opening Celestia
Celestia runs fine under Windows XP and under Vista for many people. (I use XP) It also works under Win7.
It is not at all obvious to me why it doesn't run on your computer, so I don't know if it'll run under XP for you. It'd be really nice if the error message provided more details.
