*-_ Celestia MP3 Player _-*
We have created a MP3 player for Celestia. Before releasing it to the public we need someone to do a beta-testing of this 1st and basic version.
It has been desinged to improve Celestia's "audial" (and with it visual) experience.
Be advised that this is only a 1st and basic version version with the full one coming.
If you are interested, post next info:
- resolution you use while running Celestia
- Processor power
- Amount of RAM
- O(perative) S(ystem) you are using
- your e-mail address for contact (not needed if you are registered member on these forums)
If you don't want to reveil your e-mail address then send as a PM (last option).
So... Interested?

What am I doing? Ah, nothing much. Just laying on my bed, watching the stars, and sky, and keep asking myself: 'Where the Hell is my Roof?'.

Borg, I'm interested in a system that allows to start a Celestia show starting at the same time the music that I have chosen for it.
In practice, a music player (MP3 or whatelse) that starts at the Celestia start command. Just to be a bit clearer, I have 11 different shows for students astronomy learning, each of them with a different music theme. So, when starting a show, I have to start first winamp, choose the music theme for that show, start the music, then start Celestia.
Does your system allow to avoid this? If yes, I'm very interested.
As per your request, actually I'm using an Athlon 1.33 with 640 Mb RAM at 133 MHz, and OS WIN98SE. I rub Celestia at 1024x768, with a NVIDIA 4600 128 Mb graphic card.
Within this month I'll upgrade to an Athlon 2.7 with 1 GB of 333 MHz RAM and WIN XP OS. The card will remain the same, waiting for GeForce FX.
You have already my e-mail.
Thank you
Andrea

About advanced features... it doesn't have any yet. This is still a basic version with an advanced one coming in Friday or Saturday. Still, download it and state your suggestions.
To individual designated as "Andrea":
We didn't made it that way... BUT in Friday or Saturday we are gonna make a special version just for you. You said 11 shows? No problem.
Questions:
- Do you run those shows in full screen or windowed mode?
- Where do you want controls to be located?
- Do you want Celestia and Player to be run in the same window?
- If you run Celestia in the windowed mode and you want the player and Celestia to be loaded in the same window, do you want themenu of Celestia hidden (or maybe redesinged?)
We need:
- Address of Celestia on your Hard Disk Drive
- Adresses to all 11 projects on your Hard Disk Drive
- The title you want to be placed, showed and used inside the program
- And your e-mail address (formated the whole HDD and instaled a new OS 30 minutes ago)
As for Controls... We could make them hidden until you press a key on keyboard or move a mouse pointer to the early specified spot...
Anyway, tell us what you expect from the application and we will make sure it matches with Your proposals...
Download link for Celestia MP3 Player:
>>> http://www.inet.ba/~bostuchl/Programs/C-MP3-P.zip <<<
..and an old player we made eons ago...
>>> http://www.inet.ba/~bostuchl/Programs/MP3.exe <<<
...a rudimentary interface... about same size as Celestia MP3 Player...

Borg, as I told you privately I had a problem that compelled to right eye surgery.
Actually I cannot read and write, and my daughter is doing it for me.
I hope to be again "operative" in about 10 days, and exactly on Feb 26th, when I'll have the final check if my eye is OK.
Please be patient, thank you
Andrea

Hey sounds great! .
Hi,
I'd also developed the sound module for celestia . I basically used it with the scripting . In in case i needed to play an mp3/ogg file i'd just have to add an entry in the script i was running. I did not think of any UI to be added . and as of now there's no way i can stop the sound from being played.
I'd made the chages using Celestia 1.2.4 source .
I've used FMOD to develop the sound system. Its a very high level api, and is free for non commercial uses.
i'n case someone's interested you can mail me
at Mail me and try out the fixes....
Cheers!!

Aha, a /prime number/ of shows!;-)
My request is slightly more complicated:
Can you make a special version for me, where
the number of shows is a /prime number/ and the number of shows /minus one/ is a power of two (modern graphics cards;-))....
The first ones are easy, of course: 3 ,5 , 17, 257, 65537...
and remember:
Bye Fridger
MP3 player
I'm interested.
