I just manage to sell my videocard (GForce II MX 400, 64 Mb) and now I want to buy a new one, but I can't decide witch one.
I was thinking about:
GEFORCE 3 TI 200 AGP 128 MB DDRAM+TV-OUT
GEFORCE 4 MX 440 128 MB DDRAM+TV-OUT
For an GEFORCE 4 TI4200 128 MB DDRAM+TV-OUT I don?t have enough money so one of those two!
Please advice!
P.S. I?m have an AMD XP proc. at 1600+.
Not about Celestia! (I don't know what videocard to buy)!

Take the GeForce3 Ti over the MX440. The MX 440 is just a GeForce2 with the harware antialiasing engine built in. The GeForce3 has this plus the new memory architechture and a built in pixel or vertex shadder I can't remember which. I can understand cost restraints. I was in a similar problem. I had a GeForce3 TI for a while and it worked very well with Celestia. Look at it this way, now you can start to use some nice big textures.
Again go for the GeForce3 TI over the GeForce4 MX 440. You will be much happier in the end.

Past texture releases, Hmm let me think about it
Thanks for your understanding.

As stated Titanium is better than MX all around...Look on Ebay or pricewatch.com for deals...sometimes you can get a nice card for cheap...MSI or VisionTek I would recommend...Im not quite sure about the others...Just avoid Pine brand at all cost...
I'm trying to teach the cavemen how to play scrabble, its uphill work. The only word they know is Uhh and they dont know how to spell it!

Tell me about it. I have a PCI PINE brand GeForce2 MX400 64mb and it works like cr_p. Its slow when it works at all. It doesn't like computers with AGP sockets at all and on others it freaks out the bois into not having a working Advanced Power Managment system. So basicly this card doesn't do much of anything but take up space in a box. Anyone want it?
Just joking, I wouldn't hoist this card off on an ememy much less a Celestia user. Just had to coment on why Rassilon made the statement about the PINE card.
