Sorry, I don't know if this has anything to do with the opening display problems
being discussed here, but I was having some weird problems when I fired up
the new version too.

I fixed these problems by re-installing my modified start.cel script which is still
available from the Motherlode. The script simply re-arranges the way in which all
of Celestia's settings are turned on before the display gets to planet Earth.

Works for me, so I just thought I'd mention it here.

Now, one question:

Did you always install Celestia (1.5.1 and 1.6.0) into the predetermined folder \programs\Celestia?

If yes, you can try the following (no guarantees it works).

Uninstall 1.6.0
Reboot
Install 1.5.1 (or 1.5.0 whatever you used before)
Reboot
Uninstall 1.5.1
Reboot
Install 1.6.0 again

Hopefully this will help, as it should get rid of all entries of Celestia (1.5.1 and 1.6.0) in the registry.

Otherwise you could try (if you didn't install too much in the mean time or if you used it at all) to load your last safe point from windows and then uninstall 1.5.1 from there (but for that it should be installed beforehand).

Hope I haven't confused you too much.

Guckytos

Christian,

that's precisely what I told him yesterday and he did it already without success.

I think meanwhile it's also time for a little joke...

In the depth of my heart I am convinced that the real reason for these problems is that horrendous user name!!

)??(??(T?MM?)??)??(

Which computer and which operating system would not go crazy under such circumstances!? :blue:

So my advice is: change your name into something more easy for your computer and everyone around here. How about

Joe

or similar?

There has been some confusion, controversy, even distaste for these 2 usernames (amongst others), but I can only say that I just couldn't resist setting up this username in response to Fridger's request (as he was in a joking mood  ).

So just to avoid any further confusion, and not wanting to destroy )??(??(T?MM?)??)??('s reputation, or pose as him, I should clarify that I am not him.
Hope this clears up any confusion (if not the controversy). :)
