with new url , could you try this little script

http://celestiasws.free.fr/iss1998-160rc1.cel

If this little script run on 1.60rc1,could be also run on the future 1.60 official version ?

I try my addon on a compiled version on linux ( i don't know exactly that release but 1.60 appears then i launched it )
and all the station appears but Zarya is missed, that is curious because last month it was running.But that is not so important for me.

The new URLs work fine with RC1!
I think they will work with the official version of 1.6.0 when it is released.

Sadly, your new script fails, but the fix is easy.
The English print statements contain a print statement within a print statement.
It looks like you replaced the French text with an entire print statement instead of replacing it with only the English text.

There is a minor problem when there are three lines of text on the screen.
The bottom line of text is too low in the window.
The bottom of that text is below the bottom of the window and can't be seen.
I think this might actually be a bug in Celestia.
Could this be a side-effect of the multi-language support?
Maybe the English font is too big.
Maybe Vincent knows.

Hi,

Fantastic :D :mrgreen:

The failing of your test cel script is a very minor problem.
I join a working one at this post.

The real problem is the translation of all these urls so they work in celestia 1.6

Linuxman,
Bravo ! This is a fantastic addon. Great work.

Selden,
This is not a bug. The English version of the script uses three lines of text instead of two in the French version.
So the text should just be moved one row up. That's what Jogad did, I guess.

Vincent,

The problem is that the bottom line is partially in the window and partially out of the window. In the original script, the top line of text is at row #-3, so the bottom line of text is printed at row # -1. It would be nice if text printed at row # -1 were entirely in the window.

It's not working for me... all I'm getting is a view of the sun from a distance. The script is running.
I put the iss construction folder in extras?
Probably operator error...

Is there a way of displaying the model without using the scripts? I would like to view the current config with AND without shuttle.
Prob just a bit of ssc editing?

Many. many thanks for your hardwork on the project Linuxman!

Selden,

Thanks for precising. I can indeed reproduce this issue on my system.
Actually, it happens both with the English and the French locale, so this
is not a localization bug. It looks like the height of the font is not correctly
returned. Does it also occure in Celestia 1.5.1 ?

It?s a pity that it is only a script.I was waiting for a single texture...

Hello,

Danielj?
Do you have really tried It? Is it really “only” a script? If you want a single texture, the one that comes with Celestia RC1 is not so bad.
Hmm!
---
In my previous post, I feared the difficulty to adapt the links for Celestia 1.5.1 and I offered my help to translate them for version 1.6
THIS OFFER IS NO LONGER VALID!

I discovered a much easier way to do that!
Indeed Celestia 1.6 can read well most of urls for Celestia 1.5 but the problem is that it does not default to the same frame of reference for the orbits of satellites.

Just add the line…

Code: Select all

OrbitFrame { EquatorJ2000 { Center "Sol / Earth" }}

… at the definitions of

"Zarya" ..............in the file   ISS.ssc
"Zvezda-orbite" ....in the file   zvezda.ssc
"ISS" ................ in the file   issreplace.scc

That's it!

This added line does not disturb Celestia 1.5.1. With this slight modification, the complete addon will work in the same way in the two versions.

OK, so I've got a very simple fix for this issue:

Code: Select all

Index: celestiacore.cpp
===================================================================
--- celestiacore.cpp   (revision 4716)
+++ celestiacore.cpp   (working copy)
@@ -3871,8 +3871,6 @@
             y += height / 2;
         else if (messageVOrigin > 0)
             y += height;
-        else if (messageVOrigin < 0)
-            y -= fontHeight;

         overlay->setFont(titleFont);
         glPushMatrix();

It will move the text one row up in every existing script that uses the bottom of the screen as the vertical origin, though...

Hello bob
If it't work just ask to celestia to go to Zarya .
A replace ssc file is furnished to replace older iss model.

I put the iss construction folder in extras?
That's right, there is no other manipulation.
You run it on celestia 1.5 1?

For the request you will be have to uncomment the ending date of the STS-119 Mission
but if you can't see nothing...

I have not idea for the moment.

Still nothing, super Earth views though... I've got to get to bed so I will look into it tomorrow... thanks for your help. :)
Okay... It's the morning now! I've had a plonk about and the best I can do is to define parts from the location browser and hit go. I still end up some distance from the station and when I zoom in on it I'm finding bits of it are missing!
It still looks stunning though linuxm@n... here's a screenie to illustrate, click for bigger.

Hic!

We'll have a lot of Astronauts EVA to repair everything !

I think i have seen this on my computer, i send the picture to Gilles, hope he find the answer.
Do i make special modification in a addon to run correctly on Mac Os?
I asked me if the equator ascending node is guilty.

If you can do a little test with Zvezda

"Zvezda" "Sol/Earth/Zarya"
{
Class "spacecraft"
Mesh "zvezda.cmod"
Radius 0.006763609
Beginning "2000 07 26 12:00:00"

LongLat [ 5.03549530671 -0.0717590150759 0.00613010295874]

Obliquity 0
Orientation [0 1 0 0]
EquatorAscendingNode 0.00000000
RotationOffset 0
#RotationPeriod
}

EquatorAscendingNode from 270.00000000 value to 0.0 value.

If i do this on my computer Zvezda is at the same position than you.
If it works on Zvezda, it will work on node1 node2 destiny and all other rebelled meshes ( i presume )
In this case i will do theses ssc edition, somebody else encounder this problem on Mac or PC ?
I'am happy in despite of this disaster to see a screenshot on Mac !

Well done, very appreciated! :wink:
Bye

Andrea :D

ISS release2 is online

Run the scripts that you can find in the "scripts" directory, for the moment in french language, a friend of mine will help me for the translation:
-iss-french :
is the complete construction of the ISS station from 1998 to 2009
iss-2000/2002/2003/2004.......the same script cutted year by year

theses cel scripts run on celestia 1.51 and 1.60 (i use url and hope everybody can play them)

Don't forget to set the maximum value for antialiasing in your graphic driver to have a very good quality

I'am not fully satisfied and some little default could appear in this release, but i'am a little tired with the iss for the moment.

I will certainly do some corections later.

A last picture before you download this addon:

RELEASE 2 IS HERE

PS:
Meshes are furnished on cmod with dds textures
please inform me if you find errors in this addon
Hope you will enjoy it!

This package was zipped on linux because i encounder the same problem as you to zip this addon on vista-ultimate64.
I have do a little manipulation on the zip archive and try to change permisions.
I'am uploading it now and you can try to download it to see if you have more facilities.

I will try one more time to rezip this addon on vista tomorow.
