Not a criticism, just curiosity because I'm unable to find a response to my own questioning...
Some users here (namely Selden and Chris ) are very often in hidden mode. The problem is that the community is so small and only you two guys use this mode so I really wonder why...
On top, as you guys do post while in hidden mode so it's a bit strange... (I was thinking Hidden was to stay incognito but if you post where the interest? )
As I'm wondering this since quite a long time and I tried to not ask but each time I see you guys in hidden mode I cannot avoid asking me again... and once more Chris was hidden... and post... and now curiosity is really too strong!!
SO, why Hidden mode??

Re: Hidden state
Hey Christophe,
how do you like this new society game: let's ask our wifes
to watch ALL leading players in this forum act for a little while and then place their vote who is the most sexy Celestian!!
Do you like this little game?
What do you think the result will be? Ahem...
Will it be a more or rather less mature person?
Will it be a rather emotional or less emotional person?
Will it be a person who loves Laotian Pizzas?
Cheers,
Fridger

Ha! Who that might be?
How about a little tutorial "de rigoler en maniere francaise"
by a real French soul?
You see I am trying to invent some games for the forum to bridge the dead times that you were mentioning...

You know what? The difference of sensibility between Anglo-Saxon and Latin people (and by extension, similar even if totally not the same, American vs European) is blatant here and I guess it's one of the reason of the trouble here. I guess I have read some stuff on the topic but it's the first time I have to deal with such difference. Not the difference is not good, I think it's interesting. Now I do wonder where this difference take it's root from...
Of course you as a German you must be a kind of alien because despite your strict side well German, you are more of the Latin type...

Re: Hidden state
Just a come back on the initial topic, I guess our beloved Hidden members do not read Purgatory at all since they have been wandering on the board since I've post this thread and still I wonder about their incognito state...
Or perhaps my question is way too irreverent? (would that be like asking a magician about his secret tricks? )

Did you forget that I used to be French when I was a child?

(Bouh, it's me; I'm testing the hide mode and it feels great! I'm like a ghost in the night... I think I do understand now the point of being hidden...)
I do remember you have mentioned a French passport but I was believing it was for your job...

Re: Hidden state
Hey that's cool, first time I see 5 folks hidden! Perhaps we should all stay hidden, like this newbies will be terrified to discover a ghost board and hop, no more silly questions!

I read it but I'm often too busy to respond... As for remaining hidden, I guess I just like the privacy. Not a big deal, just a preference.

Humm... privacy? As a board admin?
nan... that's sound odd...
...
Ah! I know, you have settled some hidden forums for your ESA and Nasa pals, right? And as you don't want us to know about some secret plans you stay hidden...
See Chris, that the kind of funny response I would have answered to such misplaced question. I mean it's evident if one choose the be hidden that there is good reasons, so why asking?
now I think I'll stay hidden too but just to help you with more privacy because this way it will make much sense...

Well Chris probably does the same as we do at CM . One can run a fully fledged second activity this way...

Was a joke!
And what second activity do we have at CM? You mean your Celestia.Sci? What a bad boy you do!
No Chris, no Celestia.Sci conspiracy... (for now...)
As far as I know Fridger do work on it from his side and as I said in Selden's last topic I'm not a big fan a such fork (but that you know already). I still will try to change Fridger's mind but you know how stubborn he is sometime...
