Computer virus / worm warning

Post #1by LordFerret » 31.03.2009, 03:22

I'm confident the majority of you are aware of this, but for those who are not -

There is a computer virus/worm known as "conflicker" (aka "Downadup") which possibly could wreak havoc world-wide on April 1st 2009. Those of you with Windows operating systems could be vunerable and should take precautions and insure your OS's are up to date, and that your anti-virus is current.

You can also check your network for infected hosts - http://iv.cs.uni-bonn.de/wg/cs/applications/containing-conficker/ (there are also memory scaner for confiker)

Also you can scan network by latest nmap:

Code: Select all

nmap -PN -T4 -p139,445 -n -v --script=smb-check-vulns --script-args safe=1

Waking up this morning, there was this tickling sensation next to my left toe... Of course, what else ...a little worm! Being a peaceful character, I asked him: what are you doing in my bed?? And then, what's your name?

After a little while the answer came not unexpectedly: They call me Conficker, Sir, and I am pretty hungry...
