Edit mode question.

Post #1by Hungry4info » 12.03.2009, 21:12

Hello, quick question.
Once I've oriented an object in Celestia using the edit mode, a galaxy for example, I heard there was a way to export that orientation somewheres so that you can put it into the .dsc file so that it would load like that.

Am I confused?

If not, how can I do that?
Current Setup:
Windows 7 64 bit. Celestia 1.6.0.
AMD Athlon Processor, 1.6 Ghz, 3 Gb RAM
ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics

You have to start Celestia from a command line and specify an output file.

The technique is described on the Web page http://www.lepp.cornell.edu/~seb/celest ... d.html#6.0
in the paragraph which starts with "Here's the procedure using Celestia's builtin positioning tool: "

It took me days to get that command line right to get it to work. I ALWAYS mess up command lines. Usually I end up missing a space or character etc. :(
