I'm running Celestia 1.5.1 on a Power Mac G4 under Mac OS 10.4.11. I would like to save images and create/save movies with Celestia for use with a 5th grade class i work with. My read of the user's guide is that I should be able to do image saves and create/save movies via Celestia's File Menu. However, on the Mac version of Celestia 1.5.1, the save images and create/save movies options appear to be nonexistant.
Am I missing something, or am I just out of luck?

The Mac version of Celestia does not yet have movie capture functionality. But you can save images via Grab, which should be in your Applications folder. Alternately, simply use Command-Shift-4 and drag a border around the Celestia window to save a screenshot of it.
For movie capture, you have to use a third-party utility. There are many available, some are free. Do a search on versiontracker.com.

Would QuickTime Pro or iMovie suffice? If so, how do I get the two to play together?

I have no idea if any of those can do screen capture, but there are a lot of apps available. I don?t understand what you mean by having them play together; if you save a movie in a standard format (mov/mpeg/avi), it can be edited by QTpro and iMovie regardless.
With your hardware setup, you should aim for as few frames per second as possible (12fps is a medium quality your mac ought to handle). Make the Celestia window as small as you can possibly live with, too while recording.

Find an app that can capture a pre-defined part of the screen, and grab just the Celestia window.
