Missing rotation of solar system

Post #1by BlackDragon » 31.01.2009, 22:06

Hello Guys,

at first, celestia is a fantastic tool!
While I playing, i recognized that the solarsystem is not moving in relating to the milky way.
I have in mind that our solarsystem has a precession?!

sincerely yours

Oh da ..ed, we forgot about this!

Jokes aside....We love to simulate, but we can't overheat our computers by accounting for tiny effects that take place over LARGE time scales. Next time someone comes along and realizes that the Andromeda galaxy (M 31) and our MilkyWay are actually on a dangerous collision course. ...And that this effect is also not included ;-)

See what I am getting at?

I understand what you meen. To calculate all cycles we need a super computer ^^

Is it possible to add cycles via Add-On? I am interesting about this topic because 2012 diskussions.
On the 21th December 2012 the sun and the earth align with the rotation plane of the milky way.
But with Celestia they align not with the centre of the milky way.
Do they in reality?

sincerely yours

The vast majority of predictions about 2012 are bogus.
The solar system does *not* align with the galactic center or plane, for example. (Celestia is accurate in that regard.)
You might want to read the discussions about the 2012 topics on the BAUT forum.
There have been at least 77 of them. For example:
http://www.bautforum.com/conspiracy-the ... 012-a.html
It is not an appropriate topic for the Celestia forum.

That said, some people do enjoy making fictional Addons for Celestia.
I believe that there are several for Nibiru.

Ic have to deny you. I make a screenshoot http://www.allmystery.de/dateien/mt2402 ... 1,2012.png
Earth, Sun and galactic plane will align in 2012, see screenshoot!

sincerely yours
