Hi, I just discovered Celestia. I am game programmer & possibly will be organizing new gamdev studio in eastern europe.
1. Is there any game aldeady that uses Celestia itself as world engine?
2. Is there any restrictions to use it in a commercial game? Do someone owns the project itself?

Re: GameDev
Good questions indeed...
You should perhaps do a few search before posting. That would save people precious time...

Celestia is released under the GPL license. This means that any changes you make to Celestia must also be under the GPL, including making the changed source code publicly available. This usually is incompatible with commercial interests.2. Is there any restrictions to use it in a commercial game? Do someone owns the project itself?

If I know, GPL make possible to make profit but it must be just an _opensource_ engine, he he, are you ready to make opensource game?
Re: GameDev
I was planning on using celestias engine as a base for a turn based galactic strategy game for quite some time now.
but due to my limitation on time and manpower that project is on hold for now.
celestia needs some rewrites and additions to be used for gaming such as dynamic loading/unloading of objects & textures, better and customizable UI and of course a game-logic
maybe the new lua-hooks can do some part in this but it still needs some major code changes.

most recent celestia win32-SVN-build - use at your own risk (copy over existing 1.5.1 release)
