The HUD font looks very out of place. From an old forum entry,
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5417&p=39908&hilit=ati+font#p39908
I took the hint to turn off aliasing, so the font does look less terrible, but is still out of place.
OS Vista 64, AMD/ATI Radeon 4870, current Catalyst, Celestia 1.5.1.
The size of the window does not change the effect, so I screenshotted at a small window.
If you have any other hint how I can make celestia position the HUD info at the right place, just say and I try.
Edit: When running fullscreen via "Darstellung" "Anzeigemodus w?hlen" (Probably "view" "choose display mode" in english) the HUD fonts are at the right place, but still looks terrible, it also runs at the wrong refresh rate (60 Hz instead of Windows configured 85 Hz) which makes my eyes hurt on my tube monitor.
Another Question: How can I change the used language ?
Apart from that no problems.
Joachim
HUD with all aliasing to max in ATI control panel.
HUD with alias turned to "application controled" in ATI control panel.

CRT is right. But for the refresh rate this is not right, it is for celestia as it is for games: They can independently use a different refresh rate than set in the according desktop resolution in the control panel. Many games use the same refresh, many let choose which refresh (like Battlefield 2, Half-Life 2 engine based games etc). Celestia should take the configured refresh rate from Windows, but it uses 60 Hz. For 1280x960 is should use 85 Hz, for 1024x768 it should use 100 Hz, for 800x600 it should use 120 Hz, for 640x480 is should use 150 Hz. That is the configuration of the monitor, automatically detected from Vista/ATi Catalyst (same values were detected in XP Pro). The detected values are a but lower than possible, but still in the correct range.

The font problem is independent of the full-screen resolutions. Tried: 800x600, 1280x960, 2048x1536 (not a joke, this CRT can do it), as long as aliasing is enabled the fonts display as broken as in the screenshot of the window.
If windowed: independent from resolution and window size too, the HUD has a broken font. And if alias is off the HUD is still misplaced when windowed.
