As already discussed in another thread, here's is a revised version of controls.txt that includes the recent
changes made in Celestia controls: http://vincent.giangiulio.perso.sfr.fr/ ... ntrols.txt
The content is based on the CelestiaKeyAssignments.txt file. An important effort was also made to improve
the readibility. The layout is mainly based on what Jogad did in the French version of the file (Thanks! ).
I've also slightly increased the size of the Control dialog in the Windows version.
It'd be great if native English speaking users could check it out for typos... Please keep in mind that the size
of the dialog has not been updated yet in the SVN version of Celestia. Also, I'm not sure whether this file is
used in the Linux versions, so any test from Linux users will be welcome too!
Here are some screengrabs of the current and the revised Controls dialog on Windows for comparing:

Re: Revised version of controls.txt
Alignment isn't perfect on my system. I'm not sure it's worth spending a lot of time on.
Different systems use different fonts.
Also, some lines are truncated. It would help a lot if the controls help window could be resized by the user.

Re: Revised version of controls.txt
Selden, thanks for testing.
Yes, that's what I feared with the use of tabs. I'll try to replace them with spaces.selden wrote:Alignment isn't perfect on my system. I'm not sure it's worth spending a lot of time on.

As I said, the Controls dialog should be resized, at least on the Window version:selden wrote:Also, some lines are truncated. It would help a lot if the controls help window could be resized by the user.

Re: Revised version of controls.txt
Here's another version that uses spaces instead of tabs:

Please, let me know if this one looks better.

Re: Revised version of controls.txt
Hi
And why not a HTML help file ?
And why not a HTML help file ?
Re: Revised version of controls.txt
Vincent,
stop wasting a lot of time to get the looks of "controls.txt" right!
Take a look at this thread over here http://shatters.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12930
We are already working on a greatly improved HTML version. The only thing at the moment is, that runar is bound with other work.
There is a link to how it will look like. http://www.celestialmatters.org/users/rthorvald/guide/
The only thing we need right at the moment is a consistent base which has then to be included into the html help file.
The controls.txt can be kept as a means of looking up in a text file, but the control box will be gone and replaced by a link to the html. At least that is what I understood from chris.
Best regards,
Guckytos
