I started to include the data and extras files in the zip package. They were updated today with 4323, 4324, 4325, 4326. The executables are still 4322. Sorry if this seems confusing. The data and extras files are dealing with minormoons and dwarf planets. I also included the extrasolar.ssc file which Grant updated today. He added HD 45652 b to the file. 4326 corrected a mistake.

I've updated my site with new executables. This is the first update to the executable files I've seen in a while. It is revision 4382 and should include the patch that allows multiple names for solar system objects. viewtopic.php?p=105801#p105801

Pluto is still a planet in the solar system browser.Only the orbits separate the planets from dwarf planets.I can see that from a long time ago,the differences are very small, mainly concentrating in compilation issues. My last build is 4723.I will wait for a major upsdate before downloading a SVN build...
What is more confuse is that plutoids and dwarfs planets aren?t the same, although the only dwarf planet that it isn?t a plutoid is Ceres. In Celestia, number 9 corresponds to Pluto-Charon and no longer to only Pluto.

I've updated Celestia-svn to 4407. I also trimmed the file down a bit. The HDR version is no longer in the zip file. I also took out the data, extras, and shaders folders. If you need to download data or extras files, you can download them from http://celestia.svn.sourceforge.net/vie ... stia/data/ or http://celestia.svn.sourceforge.net/vie ... ia/extras/

Hi Cartrite, thanks for your "nightly" job. Just for your information, the 4407 revision show bad Saturn's clouds when clouds shadows is active, but not for the rest of the planets. Thus, I suspect that, being the Saturn's cloud map that of th_saturn, the bad behaviour happen when the cloud texture is an entire texture, whitout transparent parts, and it doesn't happen when a cloud map has, instead, transparent parts. Do someone can confirm this (I do not have found for now relate thread)? For the rest I've found better point sprites' management (more "fast and fluid") and the two "languages name" (english-italian) of the space's objects which are useful for me.
Never at rest.

I remember hearing something about problems with gas giants and cloud maps/shadows but can't remember who or where it was posted. I don't use a cloudmap on Jupiter, Saturn, etc. Maybe you should start a bug thread.
Anyhow, my site was updated to 4421.

I received an email today from my web host informing me that they will be doing server maintenance for the next 5 to 7 days so my site may be down for a whole day or more during the next few days. It is currently down now.

My site has been down for a few days now so I'm going to temporarily maintain the svn version at my other site. I just uploaded revision 4432 in case anyone wants to update their svn version.

My primary site got up and running again after a week or more of down time. Trouble is I couldn't upload an svn update. New Servers too. What a bunch of bozos. Anyhow, my other site has been updated to 4439. If and when my primary site works out the bugs from the new equipment, I'll be just updating that one. I would just let it go but I have a lot more storage space there. They were pretty dependable up till now. So who knows.

Well the primary site seems to be working now. I uploaded 4439. That could be accessed by the little web icon. I'm going to leave the svn executables on them both of them for now. I'll decide later if I use both or just one.

Please note that a major code change has taken affect. Both my web sites have been updated with svn 4449. This new svn build requires some reading as well. Here are the contents of a new readme file included in the zip package.

A major code change has been implemented. Fridger's globular cluster code is now in the svn executable. This affected a file in the data folder called deepsky.dsc. That file is no longer used with the executable. The file celestia.cfg has also changed. I have included the files with this executable zip package. The celestia.cfg file has the changes needed for the new executable to work properly. It is suggested that if your original celestia.cfg had been edited by you and you still wish to use that file, that you change the following lines:
from:
DeepSkyCatalog "data/deepsky.dsc"

to:
DeepSkyCatalogs [ "data/galaxies.dsc"
"data/globulars.dsc" ]
The data folder I included also has the needed files, globulars.dsc and galaxies.dsc. Copy these files to your data folder.

To get the globular clusters to work, hold the shift key down and type "u". Typing shift/e toggels the globular labels.

If you have not done so, you should probably read the ReadMe.txt file too.
Good luck,
cartrite

First try!!!!! :D That's rare too with a major change.!!!!!!!
Hope I didn't forget anything though in the read me's.
PS. I'm looking into getting the SHIFT + u and SHIFT + e to work with KDE.
If I find anything, I'll post results at the developer mailing list at source forge.
I think it affects kdeapp.cpp and maybe kdeapp.h. Probably other files too.
Chris informed me yesterday while I was trying the unNormalized Mesh patch that the KDE GUI needs some updating.

Both my web sites now have revision 4466. This new revision introduces a new animated marker. Here is a screen shot that shows the marker along with some other eye candy.

I got some disturbing news from one of my web hosts. My main site, myhosting247.com, will be changing the domain name to cedhost.com. For those of you that have links to this site, the url will need to be updated. This will happen sometime tomorrow or Friday. They did not give me an exact time. After the switch, I'll change the link here so the icon works and post another alert for those who may have links to that site. My web site at sitesled.com will not be affected. The cartrite.sitesled.com web site has the svn executables too. It is basically the same as my main site. It is a little smaller though because I have limited space there. My main site, cartrite.myhosting247.com, allows 5 gb of storage. When the change takes affect, the new name will be cartrite.cedhost.com.

I've updated my old site to svn 4493. The new site is currently in Limbo. I can access my account manager but there are no files. The site may have gotten deleted when the host changed domain names. If this is the case, I will not be uploading the site again. So all svn updates and other files I published on the web will be at my old site unless the new site somehow reappears. I also updated my profile here so the little icon for the web has been updated to the old site.

Hi Cartrite,

I just tried your latest build (4493) on Vista x64, it shows the startup logo, but then.. nothing.
Build 4407 works just fine (I just changed the executable back to this version).
Windows 7 Ultimate x64, Intel Core i7 2600K 3.4 Ghz, 4 GB RAM, 120 GB SSD + 1 TB hdd, nVidia GTX460 1 GB, Celestia 1.6.0.xxxx
Download my latest SVN Build
