This level 6 shot is 128k.ElChristou wrote:8O nice shots,but... Could you try a 128k normal and spec to see the result with the 64k color?
This one is loading at the proper time because I defined TileSize 1024. So the spec is level6 (128k) and the rest is level5 (64k).
The strm.hgt files are 16 bit files and need completely different processing that I haven't got quite figured out yet. So doing a normalmap will be some time in the future.

Getting back to a 250 meter surface texture, it may be doable. Here are 2 screenshots of the outer banks area of N Carolina.
There is a pdf that describes how they were able to get reasonable quality at 250 true color even though 2 bands had to be enlarged 2x.I found section 4 to be interesting.
http://rapidfire.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/faq/ ... _Color.pdf
I was able to process this MODIS image, MOD09A1.A2008161.h11v05.005.2008171030926.hdf, with ISIS3 and HDF Explorer.
If this resolution sharpening explained in the MODIS_True_Color.pdf works, I'll give this a try as an ongoing project.

My first attempt at this.
I used ISIS to do the calculations and the enlarging so the instructions were not followed to the letter. The ms2gt program I got installed on my system didn't have the programs mentioned in the program so I used fx and enlarge from ISIS.

Well, as usual, I simply have no idea what it takes to create your images, but the results seem to look promising.
Is there any easy way to reduce the artifacts introduced by this process? We can see these in the ocean just off the coast.
I'm certain that you are aware of these, but is there any way to eliminate these effects?
Still, looks promising to me...

Those images are raw satellite images. Only one composite. I'm checking to see how they will look when they are scaled up so I can decide if it is worth the effort. There are a number of ways to clean them up. Creating the raw images is easy. Cleaning them may prove to be a little trickier though. Like eliminating clouds.
For now, I'm just playing. Finding what is done with a lot of repetition so I can try to figure out what, if any, script I can write so these can be done automatically.
