Mr Noob's Homemade Texture Packs

Hi

Learning to create textures for me started off to be very hard, in fact it was only a while before I posted this that I learned how to make clouds! Now I can make:

Planet Textures
Bump Maps
Rings
Gas Giants
Clouds

For all the people out there who want some textures but just can't create them themselves, I have free to use homemade texture packs coming in all sorts of types. All will be free of copyright I will ALWAYS update this page with new packs often so please DO NOT DELETE! Oh and one more thing... These textures won't be as noobish and basic as my "first attempt" ones

Here is my first pack. Its very small (only 2.5MB) but contains 2 Rocky Planets and their bump maps all in JPEG format.

Enjoy 8)

Sorry, but these textures sucks ! Low resolution and unacceptable polar pinches. And why making this topic a sticky thread ?

Cham,

These textures are cool! Have you thought about your graphics card, because I made sure that they were on the highest resolution possible as not all computers would display the same quality. Mine show perfect and they are beautiful as well. The only problem would be the polar pinch effect and if someone could teach me how to fix this I would repost any of my packs :D. Finally I made this a sticky for 2 very good reasons.

1) People who want quick free textures can always look here. New packs will be added often :)

2) With it being a sticky, people will notice it better, if it was a normal topic, new topics would go on top of it and therefore it would be lost in the list of topics :)

Other than the polar pinch effect (with a little knowledge off others I should be able to fix this) everything back here is fine. The resolution and quality is amazing here but I suppose thats my graphics card, I don't know.

Oh and by the way we all make mistakes, thats why I am a Noob :D

Hey Milosz, before talking too much, try to not copy/paste some of your post in several threads... (here) (THIS should be considered as spam...)

As I mentioned in the other thread, I do not consider Mr Noob's posts to be spam since they're discussing his Addons for Celestia. Sometimes I wish others could be as enthusiastic.

Why is this thread sticky?

(which also brings up the question of whether it would be better to restrict the ability to make threads sticky to admins/moderators)

Same thing I wished to know. I guess we're just not enthusiastic enough.

There's no reason for this topic to be sticky, so I've changed it to a normal topic. I'll continue to allow users to make threads sticky--there's the occasional misjudgment, but no widespread abuse of the feature.

unfortunately the maps are not maps and not able to be textured
first one is the " map " not seamless left to right and not in simplecylindrical
Image
polar reprojected North pole only ( look at the middle top of the image to see the uneven left to right
Image
image edited in Gimp to make it left to right tillable and edited to make it simplecylindrical

They don't even look like celestial bodies in my honest opinion.
Not worth the download.

Mr. Noob, it is true that many of your posts resemble spam. Give a bit more effort into your textures. We've had this discussion before
