I would like to know how can i install educational activities into my celestia-ed folder

The 2007 updates include a file that is posted near the end of the education page list. It is called "Celestia-ED 07 updates". Unzip the file directly into your existing Celestia-ED folder, and everything will be updated for 2007.

FYI, the update for 2008 is almost done. It will be ready by late July. It uses the new Celestia version 1.5.1, and is not compatible with Celestia 1.4.1-ED. It will require an uninstall of Celestia-ED, and a reinstall of Celestia 151-ED.

Thanks fsgregs,but when i unzip those files it just pop an error and says:couldn't read star database (of course when i open celestia)
What can i do about that

Given the error message, the problem is a file called "Stars1M.dat", which your Celestia-ED application is trying to open. It should be in the Celestia-ED/Data folder. If it is not, your program will not open.

That file is part of a large 430 MB download from the education website called "Educational_Base_Package.zip". That file MUST be downloaded and unzipped into your Celestia-ED folder, before you attempt to run Celestia. If it is not, you will get error messages.

Try downloading it, unzipping it into your folder, reinstall the 07 updates, and relaunch Celestia-ED. If that still doesn't work, something has become corrupted with your installation. You can either buy the CD set from me (it effortlessly auto-installs), wait for the 2008 updates to be issued in a few weeks, or both.

I also had problems when I tried to install updates but after reading this topic
I managed to install new updates and I think you worked very well.
