And here's an alternate model for Toutatis. Same old model, with noise added to the mesh, and a smoother (higher resolution) surface :

Re: Asteroids repository (25 objects - 2 textures packs)
Time to resurrect this topic a bit. Here's a nice page on asteroids modeling :

That is perhaps true, but any resource for potential add-on creators can be invaluable even if it only contains pictures of a certain asteroid. Did you not notice the data listed on the page for some of the asteroids which are used in Celestia? All information is useful in order to create realistic add-ons. Just FYI...

Re: Asteroids repository (25 objects - 2 textures packs)
Here's a pack of 6 NEW High Resolution asteroid models with texture and normal maps, designed for Sci-Fiction stuff. Some previews :
For a better rendering, don't overwrite the textures in their SSC file (of course, the SSC included in the pack is just to show the models in Celestia).

Yeah, thanks very much Martin.
I absolutely love having the ability to choose different asteroid textures
depending on the type of asteroid, etc.
Great stuff...
Thanks again, Brain-Dead
