Not bugs properly speaking,...

Post #1by RVS » 07.06.2008, 19:57

...but a number of issues:

1. Un extract from ‘mars_locs.ssc’:

Code: Select all

Location "Olympus Mons" "Sol/Mars"
{
    LongLat [ 226 18.4 0 ]
--------------------------------------
Location "Olympus Rupes" "Sol/Mars"
{
    LongLat [ 226 18.4 0 ]

2. Is the file ‘numberedmoons.ssc’ intentionally excluded from distribution?

3. On my machine (Win XP SP2, NVIDIA GeForce 7600GT) cloud shadows are rendered only if underplaying base texture is < 2k. Is this normal? I didn’t see references to such behavior in the Forum.

4. If cloud shadows rendering is turned on and I go to the surface of Venus or Titan, it is quite dark there. Wouldn’t it be better to treat cloud textures without alpha-layer as transparent for the purpose of shadow rendering?

The limit should be 4k on a GeForce 7600. The limit will be removed entirely in a future version of Celestia.

Yes--in fact, I think it's probably necessary to add a cloud shadows ssc flag. There are too many problems if cloud shadows are enabled for every object with a defined cloud layer.
