how to get closeup view behind spacecraft

Post #1by ncc1701d » 02.05.2008, 02:23

can someone tell me best method to get closeup view of spaceship like the magellan in front of venus.
Ive seen pics of ships in front of planets but i can never get close enough to see an actuall spaceship in celestia. I am set to follow and track magellan and it shows i am in meters close enough but I can never see the ship.
Its also "centered".
I know its there because it shows the label. Model is in models directory.

Thanks
steve

Steve,

Did you verify that the simulated date was after the time Magellan entered orbit? The "Magellan-full" Addon from the MotherLode has a Beginning date of August 9, 1990. Celestia draws models only if Celestia's simulated date is after their Beginnings and before their Endings. That only affects the models, though. It does draw their orbits and marks their positions outside those date ranges, which can be confusing.
