well bob you could buy a second hdd and install Linux ( fedora 8 ) or 9 in a few weeks or Ubuntu , or even Mac .

Sorry, but I blew my discretionary savings on this machine. That's okay though... I'm very happy with it.
I have also gotten some interesting (and opposite) results while trying to play the 2010 DVD on my PC. In this case, I cannot see anything unless I use OpenGL 2.0...

Vista is an interesting and very strange system to conquer, but I really enjoy the challenges. Hee, hee.

Or you could try out Linux this way Bob. I just found this on the web yesterday. It installs Ubuntu Linux under Windows as an application, no new partitions. I haven't tried it out myself, but I plan to soon.

Very much appreciate the suggestions here, but I prefer to deal with "The Devil I Know" as opposed to one which I don't.
Not to worry now. I'm finally getting this thing under control. Again, thanks for the suggestions though.
