Omega Centauri is much like a globular cluster. Celestia currently does not include any of them.

There are some 3rd party Addons which include it. Although the catalog could be improved, Omega Cen is included in a catalog of globular clusters available at http://www.lepp.cornell.edu/~seb/celest ... html#3.5.2

Hi.

I also missed globular clusters. I have modified Selden's catalog to add AbsMag for all of them, using the data from the catalog suggested in Celestia's Wikibook. Without these, the new rendering of galaxies produced overly bright globulars.

The result is rather nice. Flying around the galaxy is much more lively with globular clusters around. See an example, with the Milkyway as seen from the neighborhood of 47 Tucanae.

I have also added the alternative names, and a few clusters that were in Harris's catalog and not in Selden's.

With Selden's permission, I will make this catalog available. Selden, I am sending it to you by pm, so you can check it.

Regards,

Guillermo
