Can I do this?

I just came across Celestia recently and have finally had some time to sit down and see what it's capable of. I'm curious though if I will be able to do what I'm looking to do. I need to create a video of basically flying through the solar system from one planet to the next ending up at Earth. From there I intend to use Adobe After Effects to finish my zoom down to earth. Originally I was going to do this is AE, but when I came across Celestia I was hopeful that this would make it easier.

I appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Yes it is possible to make such a movie. The simplest way is to select and go to each planet. I just made one that did that. Do you want to visit the planets by stopping at each of them or flying by them?

I found a script for doing a tour of the solar system here:

Specs: 3500 AMD 64, 1GB RAM, PCI Express GeForce 7600 GS with 256MB, Debian Lenny on 250 GB drive, Windows XP Media Center on 250 GB drive

Ultimately, I would like to be able to have the movie following an object in space (spacecraft, comet, not sure on this yet). I think it's more important to understand the basics of celestia first. I'd like to move up on each planet and pass by moving on to the next. Camera techniques will come later, but I'd like to be able to come up on the planet and appear as if the camera view is riding along the edge of the planet's atmosphere.

I'll take a look at that script and see what I can learn from that. There's just so much information out there about Celestia, it's hard to know how to pull it all together without some help. Thanks.
