Brain-Dead Bob here...

Don't know if this is permissable or not, but I wanted to place another message at the
top of the scripting forum in order to let users know about all of my tours, and plans for
upcoming projects.

Here's what's been accomplished so far...

1) Tour of Mars either as a stand-alone script, or with new textures.
2) Tour of Saturn as stand-alone script, or with new textures.
3) Tour of Jupiter as stand-alone script, or with new textures for
Celestia 1.3.1-1 or 1.3.2 (or later) Pre-releases.
4) Tour of Uranus as script or with new textures.
5) Tour of Neptune as script or with new textures.
6) Tour of Venus as script or with new textures.

All of these packages can be found at my website HERE.

Planned projects are as follows:

1) Tour of Mercury
2) Tour of Earth (Yeah, I know we already live here!)
3) Tour of Pluto with side tour of all the "rocks" everybody wants to see.
5) Upgrade and implementation of Mr. Maxim's InfoPlugin
so that ALL tours will have the ability to display
informational windows while running.

That's what I plan on doing, and I just wanted to let you
know. Also wanted new users to be able to find the tours
if they wanted them.

I would like a Uranus or Neptune cel script who works with Celestia 1.3.1 too.

Have you actually tried the tours using 1.3.1? The only reason I placed
the "For 1.3.2 Pre whatever" notices on the Uranus and Neptune tours is
because that's what I was using when I wrote the tours.

Try them first son... Then you can bitch at me if you want to.

If you do, though. You're going to have to tell me exactly what doesn't
work so I can issue another version.

Another thought though... Why don't you just get the latest
pre-release? These have always worked fine for me.

One other thought for you... If I recall correctly (sometimes doubtful) Grant made
some changes to the way that some of the planetary objects were being displayed
(along with their location data) beginning with Pre-release 1.3.2... This means that
some of the locations in the scripts may not show up correctly in earlier versions
of Celestia. This is easy to fix though, so let me know if you have problems.

I rebuilt all the 3ds models so that their Locations displayed correctly. You'd need to write revised scripts for 1.3.1, Bob, but the only changes necessary would be for visits to named locations on lumpy (=3ds) satellites.
Or I guess you could just place a disclaimer on your website, letting people know that your scripts are produced for 1.3.2, but they work fine in 1.3.1 except for those few locations ...

The only problem I had is that the Triton flight,the screen went blank for a few seconds,than it resumes normally.I think it was talking about the frozen volcanism,or something like that

And beautiful work it was too, sir... Thank you very much for THAT effort. I just *love* it
when a location shows up where it's supposed to. Of course - in my case - I don't usually
know where that location IS until Celestia tells me.

Well, it doesn't do that on my non-graphically enhanced machine, and I cannot reproduce
any such symptom. Kinda hard to fix if I can reproduce it. Sorry.

Maybe your graphics card? PC? memory allocation? <shrug>

And that was cryo-vulcanisim. Pointing out cold volcanic eruptions...

Great stuff, that'll cover all the planets in the neighbourhood - can't wait to see the Earth tour...and maybe after these, some of the more interesting asteroids ???

Yes. Of all the objects in the Universe, it is one of these "rocks" that is most likely to obliterate all of life on Earth! Wouldn't it be nice if the Celestia community could say they'd seen it coming - and even had a tour of it!

No point - just a musing! But a tour of some of the asteroids would be good to have available - there are some terrific models of asteroids with excellent textures that would make a very scenic and informative tour. I think especially of AnneFrank, Bacchus, Braille, Castalia, Eros, Gaspra, Geographas, Golevka, Halley, Hektor, Ida, KY26, Toutatis and Vesta. There is also a nice fictitious texture of the Kuiper Belt Objects Quaoar and Sedna that could be used in a tour. I include two images below that might provide inspiration for a tour.

Okay... I know when I'm out-numbered.

After the rest of the planets, and the info-windows, I'll start on a grand tour
of the asteroids. Happy?

I have always thought that they were just boring, but I *did* have some
interest in Eros and a few of the other strange rocks circulating around
the Solar System, so your wish is my command.

As Tim's already mentioned, there are some nice little asteroid models that come with the standard Celestia package, which I think are well worth seeing in a tour. Maybe one or two add-ons too ?
I'm sure they will make for some interesting viewing, and a tour will be a much better way to see them than by the usual method of manually selecting them.
