Question 15 in the Preliminary Celestia User's FAQ provides some basic information about scripting in Celestia. The following is a link to that question and answer (posted by Selden) ...

This does NOT seem to work
Nor does the -c command launch a script at startup, neither does -once prevent celestia from starting another copy. At least not V1.3.1p11 on Window Systems.
A pitty - I thought I've found a way to control celestia from outside.
greets, maxim.

Howdy maxim,
Thank you for reporting this!
I noticed that Selden has already posted this over into the Bugs forum. It must have broke when something else was worked on <sigh>. Hang tight, and let's hope Chris can fix it for the final release!

The actual errors were typos in
Preliminary User's FAQ #15 which have been fixed.
Don, you probably should update your posting above to provide the correct options (
--once and
-u). Maybe providing just a link to the FAQ entry (which I've included here) would be more appropriate.
Sorry.

Thank you for the update Selden. The initial post now points to the FAQ.
