Script defined reference frame?

Post #1by rbroberts » 27.02.2008, 20:22

I'm writing a script to display a split-view of Venus' phases. One pane looks at Venus with a wide-angle view so the Sun is also always visible, the other pane shows a telescopic view so that both the size and phase changes are visible.

To get this to work, I have to define a new reference frame. I copied one I already have for Earth-L1 and just put the viewpoint closer to earth so I'm sitting just above the atmosphere. If I don't do this and just use "follow Earth", sometimes Earth gets between me and Venus.

This is all nice, but....is there some way to define a reference frame within a script instead of having to define it in a separate file?
