Celestia tick frequency ?

Hi everybody !
I'm working in developping a real time interface to celestia with Lua. I'd like to use ScriptedOrbit and ScriptedRotation to control my object. My intention is to integrate the LuaSocket library (recompiling Celestia..) to get datas from a server through a TCP connection.
But i don't know what is the frequency of the celestia tick to get information about position and rotation of an object through these definition (ScriptedOrbit and Rotation).
Is this tick configurable ? can we force it ?
or is it an awful idea ?
