One day last week Yahoo suddenly decided to (without warning) delete my entire website and disable my account because:
"The GeoCities Terms of Service states that you cannot use your GeoCities home page (or directory) as storage for remote loading or as a door or "signpost" to link another page, whether inside or beyond Yahoo! and/or GeoCities."
The trouble with Yahoo is that they gave me no warning and no information about which pages were at fault, so as well as having no opportunity to rectify the problem, I still don't know to this day what exactly they were objecting to. (Perhaps that I had a link to http://celestiaproject.net/celestia on my homepage? )
I was just wondering if anyone else has had any similar experience recently or in the past with their Yahoo/Geocities hosted website.
( I find it quite incredible that they just delete it without giving you a chance to fix it. You'd think they would at least give you enough information to avoid the same mistake in the future! )
EDIT: I did a google search and it looks like this is quite a common practice...

Anyway, the net result is that my website will be out of action for a while, until I find somewhere else to host it. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Note: Rungworld v1.0 can still be downloaded from the ML, but all other downloads, videos, etc won't be available until I can find somewhere else to host it (hopefully with someone who treats their customers with a little decency).
Needless to say, it won't be on Yahoo/Geocities again.
