Need some help - on some current videogames.

Post #1by BlindedByTheLight » 01.11.2005, 00:44

Got a question for you gamers out there for a script I'm working on...

Anybody know what are the most popular games (today or yesterday) that involve complicated hand-to-hand battles? Something that requires cool keystroke combo's for the character to do cool flips? Something I could reference a la "They were jumping around, flipping and kicking ass... straight out of INSERT VIDEO GAME TITLE HERE".

The more popular the better.

Thanks,
Steven

Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat were popular a few years ago. I dunno what's the "in thing" today in terms of fighting games though. Soul Calibur?

Those are the sort of thing you're asking about I think. The sort where you have to yank the joystick through three extra dimensions while sprouting extra fingers to hit 6 buttons all at the same time? ;)

lol yeah Mortal Kombat was fun on the Super Nintendo! I would play it with my dad (I was just a little kid then by the way) at the video store he worked at and I didn't know any button combos for the moves. I would just mash the controller and hope I was doing a combo. I would always pick the character with long hair because I found out that person to pick up opponents and toss them back and forth continously without them getting free. All I had to do was find the combo everytime that made it happen.

A world without Monty Python, gnomes, news crews that make a big deal out of a celebrity breathing, Star Trek, & Coca-Cola? That is impossible! IMPOSSIBLE!

One of the current big name fighting games is Dead or Alive. The game involves lots of women fighters, and the developers seem to have spent most of the processor power on accurate modelling of the movement of their breasts... :D

Mortal kombat is still popular, try deception or shaolin monks. those are fairly new. Try Def jam. thats a good game too.
